I was able to speak with Romy Soleimani, the makeup artist who did the makeup for both Jason Wu and Nicole Miller’s runway shows. The two products she mentioned both times and admitted to being her favorite were MAC Cosmetics’ Sculpt & Shape and their Glitter in Reflects.
Sculpt & Shape contours the face and helps define the aspects you want to stand out. While the Glitter is multi-purpose, it can bring life to the eyes without overdoing it.
A really fabulous tip that MAC makeup artist Gina Bettelli shared with me when it comes to applying the Glitter, was to spray at cotton pad with MAC’s Charged Water and gently hold the cotton pad under the eye (wet side facing out). That way as you apply the glitter, not only does the cotton pad catch what dusts off the eye to prevent it from skattering all over your face, but having the pad slightly wet will hold the glitter in place as you move the pad away from your eye.
Sculpt & Shape and the Glitter in Reflects sure looked amazing on the models. Have you used them?

I would love it if MAC offered tutorials on how to use their products.
Angie :)
I love their makeup!! I have used it for years and it seems to be the best I can find for my skin.

not sure if you have looked at their site or not but mac has pages called “looks”, here you can find suggested combinations via face charts. under each face there is “look details” click that… there you get detailed explinations on the looks. some looks are out there but it gets your makeup juices going & gives you lots of new ideas to try & how to use the products too. ;-)
shoot i forgot the link http://www.maccosmetics.com/templates/looks/looks_landing.tmpl
just pick a look & go from there!
That would be great if they had VIDEO tuts though, I usually just scour YouTube. I saw a great video on there on how to use this product — and it really works when used properly! Too bad I didn’t gert it when I had the chance, I don’t think sculpt and shape is available anymore.
The Glitters are hard to figure out how to use to. I’ve wanted to use them like pigments, but I hear they aren’t safe for the eyes…beyond that I dunno what to do with them.
I love the idea of a contoured cheek. Unfortunately I’m much too light skinned to ever pull it off. It hasn’t stopped me from trying though, and looking muddy and ridiculous…or right out of the 80’s. I’m better off with a quick swipe of stain on the apples of my cheeks…much more natural.
