Latisse = Longer Lashes?

Have you heard the word on Latisse?  It’s an FDA approved lash growth promoter, available by prescription only. The solution is applied nightly at the base of your eyelid (much like how you’d apply liquid eyeliner) with a disposable applicator (60 are included for single uses).

In extensive tests, the average person saw truly spectacular results over the course of 16 weeks of use:

  • 25% increase in lash length
  • 18% increase in lash pigmentation
  • 106% increase in lash thickness

With those kind of numbers, you wouldn’t even need mascara!  But it’s not ALL puppies and roses – there are risks associated with the use of Latisse.  Namely, you could experience temporary skin discoloration on your eyelid (the brand suggests discontinuing use if that occurs) or even the permanent darkening of your eye color. Crazy, right? Of course, these side effects are the exception and not the rule but still, if you’re interested in trying Latisse, be sure to read up at www.latisse.com or talk to your doctor.

I’m curious, have you ever tried any lash growth promoters?  If so, leave a comment and tell me what you thought!

I’m on week 9 of using Latisse and I’m soooo thrilled!!! I noticed a difference after about 4 weeks and now I’m to the point that I’m considering switching to maintenance(applying once or twice a week as opposed to daily) because my lashes are almost to the point of ridiculously long! My lashes were extremely short to begin with, I have a nervous habit of picking at them. This product, if you can afford it, is amazing.

Did it really work? I have that problem too and just purchased it today at the doctors..let me know!

I’ve been using it as well for about 2 months, I really love it too. no side effects, and i am happy that my lashes are also thicker like they told me. Dr. Fouad Melamed in West Hollywood was really nice about it, and i highly recommend anyone to talk to an eye doctor (like him) becuase they will talk to you about the health of your eyes and it. hope that helps anyone.

I started using Latisse 2 weeks ago and i had to stop… My eyes were irritated like crazy and super itchy…I guess i was sensitive to something in it. I used to use Revitalash and I am planning on going back once my eyes go back to normal…

  4. EyeDoc says:

    Christine,
What I tell my patients who experience discomfort, is to use Latisse every other night for couple weeks. Most of the time, those symptoms go away after couple weeks, and you can return to nightly regimen.

Also be sure that you are applicating the drug properly. A lot of times, people are placing it wrong, putting in their eye, or putting too much, that is why they are getting symptoms.

Remember, Revitalash was forced by a lawsuit to take out the Latisse component in their product by Allergan, so good luck with that!

been using Latisse for four weeks and already see longer and fuller lashes. I’ve had no side effects. I had some problems figuring out if I was putting enough product on the brush. I purchased two bottles for $200.00..a special my doctor was offering.

I’m thinking of trying latisse, it sounds really good. However, I tried Lilash, and woke up with red, itchy eyes, and stopped using it. But from the reviews I’ve been reading on different eyelash growth products, either people have problems with irritation, or they don’t. I didn’t use Lilash long enough to see whether the redness would subside. Latisse is very costly, but I really want longer lashes, so we’ll see. I just don’t want the same side effects, it would be such a waste.

  7. Savannah says:

I, too, am a Revitalash user. It took about 2 months to see a noticable difference, but my friend is using Latisse and it took 2 months as well. Now that I know the products work in the same amount of time, I’ll stick with the one that’s more affordable!!

  8. latisse says:

Latisse works and after 16 initial weeks, you can reduce the drop to 2 to 3 a week to maintain it. There are about 80 drops in a 3ml bottle so you can use it for few months. Is it affordable? I don’t know. was it worth it? yes!

Iam on week eight with latisse .
    The difference is amazing,
Since this was really for high pressure in the eye
wouldn’t it help those who are diagnosed with this problem?

  10. megan says:

i went to try Latisse but i can’t afford $120/month! don’t they offer any coupons of some sort? my salon suggested using Revitalash instead and i hope to get the same results. I’ve read reviews and they are promising!
