Lulu Beauty Creme Rouge

I’ll be honest here and tell you that I have never used a creme blush before. So far it has been powder all the way. I read the directions on how to use Lulu Beauty’s Creme Blush and it basically assured me that it was fool-proof.

The color I received was called Pinup and in its container it appeared to be a dark color. I crossed my fingers and hoped I didn’t look like a harlot when I was done applying it.

As with the Lip Lustre, the color looked lovely on me. I found that it was the kind of color you could build on. So I can make it light for day and add a little extra color for night.

It was easy to apply, just twisting the blush up in the container. I found that I prefered rubbing my sponge wedge over the creme and applying it to my cheeks than I did using my fingers. I also have combination skin and find that when I use a sponge wedge as opposed to my fingers, it’s less oil being transfered onto my face.

This really is a pretty color. Don’t let the dark creme scare you. When the creme is applied to your cheeks it looks more like this color:

rouge smear pinup

Pinup is a warm tone, but they also offer Starlet, which is a cool tone and a lovely pink color.

Thanks for the tip about using wedges as opposed to just fingers. I mentioned elsewhere that I’ve never used cream or stain as blush, but I think you’ve inspired me to try something new.

This kind of reminds me of Tarte’s Cheek Stains. In fact, I prefer cheek stains over blush.

Never used a cream blush!? I love the natural flush they give…but not very long lasting. I’ve since turned to stains…I’m in love with benetint.
