New Mascara: Bare Escentuals Buxom Lash

Call me slightly skeptical when a brand makes some stellar claims about a product, but also call me intrigued when that claim is by a very well-known brand. Bare Escentuals has just launched its newest mascara, Buxom Lash, which they claim will volumize lashes by 300%. Not 100%, not 200%, but 300%..I guess they’re not fooling around. Mascara is serious stuff.

I didn’t really have much luck with their Buxom Lip Plumper, but I’m not one to discount a brand or product based on the review of one item alone. So Buxom Lash will be on my after-Christmas shopping list to take it for a test drive. However, if you’ve picked this up for yourself, I’d love to hear what you thought. Did it really give your lashes 300% of POW?

I got it as a free gift at Sephora the other day and I LOVE IT! I think their claim is true – it has some super volume. The brush is hour-glassed shape, which somehow helps. Also, the “bristles” are unlike any mascara I have seen. The only downfall is that it is not waterproof.

    Hi Amy,

Thanks for letting me know. Too bad about it not being waterproof though. Now I’m excited to give it a try!

I also got this as a freebie from Sephora and Love, love LOVE it. I’ve got a lot of lashes (which can be a problem when dealing with mascaras that are clumpy) and Buxom Lash pumps up each lash without clumping them together.

Count me in. I got a sample at Sephora and was quite doubtful as I’m very picky with mascara. But, I love this mascara. The brush is like nothing I’ve ever seen. When this very generous sample is finished, I’ll purchase the full size one and continue using it.

I just got a tube of this at Sephora. I was looking for a new mascara. COuld not get any of the ladies to help me, and the store was not that busy! I wear a lot of the Bare Escentuals line so I thought I would give this a try. WOW my lashes are long enough now to touch my eyebrows! I have not had a mascara do that ever! I actually had a hard time blinking at first! I wear glasses and my Hubby noticed right away! It will be interesting to see how it wears for a whole day.

Really? Maybe I should have gotten the free sample vs. paying $18. Clumpy, leaves me w/ raccoon eyes by 2p and I don’t even touch my eyes during the day; even after using make up remover AND washing my face I still have a ring under my eyes and I don’t apply it to lower lashes! Perhaps a bad batch but I’ll stick to a Target purchase of Cover Girl for 1/2 the price and better length. Also, just did a test run to see if I just had a bad day, look at that, flakes on the tips of my finger from just the slightest touch. Sad times as I usually like the Buxom products.

I have to agree with Michelle. This stuff stays on my lower eyelids forever. I’ve actually been experiencing really bad dark circles under my eyes. I’ve been sleeping regularly, barely going out. No diet change. I looked at other sites about under eye circles and one said it could be allergy to mascara. I’m going to go back to my old mascara. I think i might literally be allergic to this stuff.

I got a free sample and I love this mascara. Of course I have been using Latisse from dermatologist to lengthen my lashes (works great), so that plus this mascara, finally I have pretty lashes. It doesn’t flake but does wash off easily, which I I really like
