Our fascination with mascara

So far mascara seems to be taking the lead for the one product you can’t live without poll in the sidebar. I actually expected this to be the case. For some reason, so many of us have this -fascination- obsession with mascara. Last night I wrote about this asking all mascara junkies what it is that makes us continue to horde mascara like there is no tomorrow: Mascara: In search of the Holy Grail
For the past two years I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect mascara! I’m one of those who can’t live without it. If I have to wear anything, it’s mascara ;)
Love love love my Mabelline Lash Stylist mascara! I have tried several others, from Estee Lauders’ MagnaScopic, Clinque’s Lash Exact (one side a comb the other side fluffy) the new “plastic” wands (which do work wonderfully), but time and time again I keep coming back to it! It gets all of the little lashes and builds non-clumpy lashes w/super volume. For $6 at the CVS…it can’t be beat!

i agree with dawn, that mascara is excellent! lol i love the title “Mascara: In search of the Holy Grail” it sounds like it belongs in the Da Vinci Code!
i think the reason behind the mascara craze is because our eyes are always the focus. it’s hard to find the perfect shadows and apply the liner just right, but with mascara, it’s an easy one color swipe and you’re done!
For me, the holy grail is in between Zoom lash from MAC and Lancome’s Definicils. Two very different mascaras, with markedly different results on my eyes, but both are just lovely, pretty mascaras.
I’m a huge mascara junkie because it’s one of the cheapest products therefore I’m more willing to take a gamble on it. I don’t have one Holy Grail Mascara (yet), but of all the mascaras I’ve tried (and I’ve tried many) I really love:

I don’t think I have an obsession with mascara. However, I do have an obsession with lip gloss.
