Physicians Formula Conceal Rx

The other day while at my local CVS picking up some art supplies for my son, I decided to take a look at the beauty section and came upon some new products by Physicians Formula. I’ve never used their products before, but I was out of my Twisted Fayte green mineral concealer and needed something to replace it. So I purchased the new Conceal Rx in soft green.
Conceal Rx is meant to conceal blemishes, dark under-eye circles, scars, birthmarks, age spots, bruises, rosacea and hyperpigmentation. It is oil-free and concentrated to last up to 12 hours.
The directions say to dab a little on and then smooth it out over your skin. I found that the first time I used it, I used way too much. At the time, I really didn’t think I was applying to much, but I looked like I was trying out for a part in Night of the Living Dead. When I applied my Liquid Minerals foundation over top and then the PurePressed Base Powder, my husband said I looked so unbelievabley pale. Not to mention that I looked like a pancake face.
The next time I went to use it, I only applied the teeniest amount by dabbing my finger tip at the opening and surprisingly that tiny amount was able to cover my entire cheek. Instead of using a liquid foundation, I used my Supernatural Mineral Powder and saw that by using less concealer product and a foundation powder vs. liquid, it made all the difference in the world. It completely covered the redness in my face and gave my skin tone an even look to it. No zombie look, no pancake face.
Definitely love this concealer. I was skeptical though, about their CoverToxTen that I saw and I wrote more about that on the Beauty Pro.

OH girl! This reminds me of one of my first photos shoots. Applied green to hide the model’s red spots, and to the eye it looked fine. Then, the photographer called me over to the camera and said, “here, look.” He didn’t look happy. I looked through the lens and saw little green dots on her face. Under the lights, you could see everything. hehe. Needless to say, I never used green again. (hint: use yellow next time! much more user friendly!)
I read your review and I thought, hmmm, I should try it out. So I picked it up over the weekend. I have terrible redness in my face. I love the Physicians Formula products, I own a ton of them, so I thought I would give it a try. Little dabs of it in my red zones (around my nose, chin), then my Nutrogena Sheer Tint, and here I am roughly 9 hours later and the redness is dramatically less that before I used it. I have to give it a good review!

Dawn, it definitely takes some playing around with to figure just how “little” you need to spread it around to look natural, but when you figure it out–it definitely works. :) Glad it worked for you!

Which product worked better, the Physician’s Formula Conceal or Twisted Fayte?
I think the Physician’s Formula is alright if used very very sparingly like Shannon said. And again, if you’re of darker skin tone, this probably isn’t the best for you.
I read about a really great tip about just focusing on the middle of your face. This is the part where people look at the most. I usually blend outwards starting from eyebrows and apples so that my makeup doesn’t go all the way to my hairline. It actually looks more natural this way.
I used to use conceal rx and PF’s mineral foundation/powder before I got sucked in by Bare Escentuals infomercial (now I only use BE). I find that the green can be too dark for my fair skin, unless applied EXTREMLY lightly.
I’ve never tried Physician’s Formula products because they look so fake to me. Even in their advertisements they look fake on the models, which is a bad sign.
