Purely Cosmetics Silk & Pearl Powder Primer

purely cosmetics silk and pearl primerPurely Cosmetics has an oil absorbing primer in their arsenal, their Silk & Pearl Powder Primer. Made in two formulations, normal to dry and normal to oily, this translucent powder will mattify and give your skin an even-toned appearance.

Before receiving it, I was encouraged by the fact that the oily skin version contains kaolin clay, well known for its oil absorbing abilities. I’m a huge fan of clay masks for facials, so I knew the powder version for applying under my makeup would work just as well. If you’ve ever used a clay mask, then you know how when you rinse your face, all traces or oil and shine have vanished.

The best part is only having to use it where you tend to shine the most, and being a 10 gram jar for only $18.50 means this will last you a very long time. www.purelycosmetics.com

  1. Hi Shannon-great review of the primer!

I use Purely Cosmetic products and love all of them:)

Check out my interview with Purely Cosmetics here:

    All the best to you.

I look forward to visiting your site often:)

  2. Hmm, I wonder if this product has talc in it. I think powder primers are great and especially good at controlling oil, but i worry about breaking out from talc! Guess I’ll have to do a little research.

  3. Shannon says:

Hi Crystal, Talc doesn’t appear to be an ingredient. Here’s what she has listed on her site for oily skin: Pure silk powder, pure pearl powder, allantoin, mica and kaolin clay.

  4. Hi Crystal – no, none of my products contain talc, bismuth oxychloride, food grade powders (such as rice powder) that require preservatives, parabens or other fillers. All of the ingredients in any of my products are always listed on the website.
