Bold smoky eyes were one of the many ’80s inspired looks that stood out on the Fall 2009 runways. Appearing at top shows including Zac Posen, Michael Kors and Bottega Veneta, dark dramatic eyes are a must have for the upcoming season.

To get the look at home, try Jemma Kidd Make Up School’s new Eye Essentials Semi-Matte Shadow in Aubergine. This unique blend of dark brown, grey and purple is a perfectly modern way to create a smoky eye.

In terms of application, try focusing the shadow on the lower lash line and blending  to add dimension and enhance the eyes. Finish the look with your favorite black mascara to intensify and finish the look.

  1. This shadow sounds amazing. I get so sick of doing smoky eye with a plain black shadow. I love how this one is infused with purple and brown. Can’t wait to try it out. Thanks!
