Setting a date with Alyn Topper

If you’ve watched the Bravo series, “Blow Out” then you are sure to know who Alyn Topper is. Both my husband and I liked watching it because I couldn’t believe that Jonathan was really that dramatic, although I hear his products are really good.

A month ago I found out Alyn was coming to NYC through an email Pierce sent out. Being the slacker that I am, I waited until 2 weeks ago to call Alyn’s assistant to try to set an appointment for March. Today she called me back and I will be meeting Alyn in person on March 3rd for a haircut.

I can’t even tell you how excited I am about this. I honestly think I am going to just let my hair continue to grow out until that date, although I am at my wits end with it right now and might consider a trim in the next week or so. I want my transformation to be dramatic…in true drama queen style of course.

Anyway, beyond seeing Michael Jackson at Disney World when I was 12, this is the closest to celebrity I have come. Plus, I will be about 7.5 months pregnant and in dire need of some serious pampering. I’m ecstatic that I will be able to get this hair transformation from someone as talented as Alyn.

I’m so jealous! I usually try to wait 3 months between haircuts to save money (sooo expensive here in London) but my last haircut was so useless that I think I may give in and go several weeks before my self-imposed timeline. This time, I’ve decided to splurge and go to the Aveda salon. Wheeee!

You must share pics of your new do and maybe even have someone at the salon take pics during the process. :D

Ohh, don’t you worry. I believe there will be a photoshoot involved and filming. :) I’m so excited by all the things that are going to be going on that weekend, that I needed to buy a bottle of Tylenol last night for my headache…a good headache from my head spinning with excitement!

OMG Shannon, I’m so excited for you! I am *obsessed* with Blow out and love Jonathan and his dramatics, and Alyn was clearly one of the best stylists. I can’t wait to hear all about it. And you must post pictures.

and alyn is a cutie! i used to get $10 dollar haircuts all the time…the cheaper the better! bigggg mistake. there is such a difference when you have a real stylist doing your hair. though i have gotten great hair cuts, my dream scenario has not happened yet.

Dream scenario: i walk into a salon, a stylist takes one look at me and screams, “i know the perfect haircut for you!!” 30 min later, i am transformed into a goddess that has wash-and-go hair.

    *sigh* a girl can dream

Congrats (however belatedly), I love Alyn and his show though. It’s a scream.

Alyn’s hilarious…that must have been such a good time!

  1. [...] Although I know it is for my “before” pictures, meaning BAT–Before Alyn Topper–I still dread walking through those doors with my uneven skin coloring and possibly puffy looking eyes from not sleeping the night before due to excitement. Does that make me vain I wonder? [...]
