Milani Cosmetics Lip Mixer, Mineral Mousse Foundation & Compact

Milani Cosmetics Lip Mixer, Mineral Mousse Foundation & Compact

A while back I asked you all what you thought of mousse foundation. So finally I have had the chance to give it a try with Milani Cosmetics Mineral Mousse Foundation (which is oil-free LOVE). I also gave their talc-free Mineral Compact Makeup and Lip Mixer a shot as well. Paired with some of my other favorite brands, I was determined to get that snowbunny-sexy look going on.

MAC Hello Kitty Collection

MAC Hello Kitty Collection

It has killed me to keep quiet about the Hello Kitty collection from MAC Cosmetics! I went to the editor preview back in November and have been under embargo until now! I’m sure you’ve seen the leaks out there that MAC is launching Hello Kitty (and Hello Kitty Couture ooh la la) in February. You’ll be able to find it here in the states on February 12th and internationally it will be available in March.
Here’s some pictures from the event and of the products. There will also be an amazing video coming out in February that beauty editors got to …read more

Golden Globes Makeup Looks and Trends

Golden Globes Makeup Looks and Trends

Collier Strong, a Consulting Makeup Artist for L’Oréal Paris, gave me some tips on the trends that we saw the celebrities don on the Golden Globes red carpet tonight.
Trend 1: Focus On The Lips
It’s all about a beautiful bold lip! Whether it’s warm or cool, a bold, opaque, red lip has a very sexy yet romantic feel. The eyes are as glamorous or neutral as your wardrobe dictates. During the day, eyes are kept simple; at night, opt for a darker look. Either way, eye makeup should be blended beautifully and brows should be perfectly groomed for an elegant look. …read more

Lipstick Tips: Red Carpet Red to Everyday Red

Lipstick Tips: Red Carpet Red to Everyday Red

If you’ve read my beauty blog for a while then you know I always say red lipstick may not be good for everyone. So when Christina Zilber, a makeup stylist for Jouer Cosmetics, approached me about the red lip trend that we are sure to see at the Golden Globes, I asked her if she’d be willing to help all of us understand what other colors on our face can help make a red lip work for everyone…and she did.

Elizabeth Arden Pure Finish Mineral Powder SPF 20

Elizabeth Arden Pure Finish Mineral Powder SPF 20

Elizabeth Arden just launched a new mineral foundation powder that I have been loving for the last week: Pure Finish Mineral Powder. The compact itself is a “portable grinder” as there is no loose powder in this baby! How many of you have hated putting your mineral foundation in your handbag and having it become messy when you open it? The fact that you only twist the compact for it to grind out only as much powder as you need is sheer genius!

Product Find: tarte Cosmetics Purse Your Lips

It’s been so long since I’ve bought any new lipsticks or glosses (because most would agree I have enough for the entire state of Pennsylvania in my handbag right now.) But I came across tarte’s new Purse Your Lips and it was the ingredients in this product that caught my eye.
