Things you’ll need:

Foundation or primer for your lids
Loose powder to set
Light shimmer shadow
Dark grey shadow
Black liner
Black mascara
* False lashes

Step One: Begin by applying your foundation. Spread foundation to your eyelids to provide a good base for your shadows.

Step Two: Dust your face with translucent powder

Step Three: Apply a light shade of shadow to the entire lid to highlight the brow bone. (They used shimmer beige from base of lashes to eyebrows.)

Step Four: With a small shadow brush, find your eye crease and apply dark shadow. The photo shows Black Pearl applied to the entire lid and under the lash.

Step Five: Add black pencil on top and bottom of eyes and smudge as needed to blend edges. Use the beige side of the Besame pencil to line the inner eye area for more definition and a wide-eye look.

* Step Six: For added drama, add a set of thin false lashes to the top and a shorter row on the bottom of the lash.

Step Seven: Finish with black mascara

* I see this as optional, especially if you have a really rockin mascara.

What I thought:

There is definitely no way to get the above with just one coat. I applied several coats, as I would normally with any of the mascara’s I use. The mousse-like consistency really just looked like any other mascara formula, I honestly didn’t notice a difference. It also does smudge easily if you happen to rub your eyes.

It did add some volume and it coated every lash. Of course, the packaging of this mascara is gorgeous in its gold bottle. I liked using the Plum the best because it really brought out my hazel eye color. At first I thought I was going to be gung-ho 1988 with purple lashes, but it is a deep purple that really appears to look black when worn. Obviously if you have blonde or red lashes, the purple would probably be more apparent. The purple hue really does add some pop to your eyes.

I have to say that I was a little disappointed. I hadn’t really encountered any cons with their products yet, but this mascara is not as wonderful as all of their other products.

Both have a very light Vanilla fragrance and both have a nice thick and creamy consistency. The Cotton Candy is a pale pink that gives your lips a frosted color and the Shimmer Peach has some nice sparkle to it.

The Enriched Lip Glaze is made with vitamins A, C, E and anti-oxidant green tea extract. They also heal and protect with aloe vera, macadamia nut extract and sweet almond oil.

I always get excited when I receive something in the mail from Besame because they have such pretty packaging and quality products.

A few days ago a surprise came in the mail. I like love surprises. Especially when it is a surprise package from Besame Cosmetics. They sent me their new Delightful Rose Balancing Moisturizer with Rose Extract. Balancing Moisturizer? I wondered. I’m a girl with combination skin that is the bane of my existance, so I was intrigued to find out more about this product.

What it says it does:

Besame Delightful Rose Balance Moisturizing Lotion is specially formulated with natural botanical oils and rose extract to help promote and maintain soft, smooth, and youthful looking skin. It is antioxidant-enriched with vitamins to nourish the skin for a healthy, hydrated complexion. Wonderfully light, it creates a perfect canvas before every make-up application.

I opened the bottle to a wonderful and very realistic fragrance of roses. It brought back memories of the very first bouquet of roses I received when I was 17 from my first “real” boyfriend. It is a very lovely and romantic scent.

The lotion is very lightweight, which is not surprising, since I feel that all of Besame’s cosmetics are lightweight. This lotion doesn’t feel greasy, either.

My typical routine is to put my moisturizer on and then dry my hair, so that I can let the moisturizer absorb and also so that if there are any excess oils, I can blot them before putting on my makeup. I was shocked and surprisingly happy to see my skin’s reaction to this moisturizer. Balancing it is! Where my face typically has such a shine to it and requires blotting, I did not have to do that step in my makeup routine. Which, any cosmetic that can save me time, well you have me at hello.

As I applied my makeup, I was just loving how well everything went into place. No blotting required, no oil grabing my powder and eyeshadow. I love it! My skin feels soft and the scent is not overpowering.

This product definitely lived up to its expectations.
