Hello my name is Shannon and I have an uneven skin tone. Anyone else? I know I’m not alone and in fact, I have a few friends that have Rosacea and want to bury their face when they leave the house.

While you can’t rid yourself of your uneven skin tone or Rosacea, there are some things you can do to tone down the ruddiness.

First and foremost would obviously be to make sure you are implementing a good skincare system. That means removing your makeup every night, exfoliating your face once a week, using a good cleanser on your face morning and night, using a gentle toner, and making sure you moisturize prior to applying your makeup and before you hit the hay. Keeping your skin healthy and moisturized is key to preventing further redness due to irritation and dry skin. As most people know, I am a rep. for Country Bunny Bath & Body and I utilize their Face Collection (I even have customers with Rosacea who use it). Regardless of which skincare system you use, the thing is…you need to use one.

For makeup, it’s all in how you work it. Sometimes concealers that match your skin tone are not the answer, but in fact you need something that will counter the redness. These color correctors help in lessening the appearance of the ruddiness in your skin. While I occassionally will use a green corrector, the most popular out there is yellow.

The green corrector I use is from Twisted Fayte. It is mineral makeup and I just dust it over my skin. I admit it scared me the first time I used it and looked like the Jolly Green Giant (only shorter), but once I applied my normal foundation and powder over it, the grinch look disappeared and I was surprised at the results. My skin looked the best it has in a very long time.

I’ve heard rave reviews about Benefit’s Lemon Aid from fellow beauty bloggers. This is mainly for your eyes for both redness and dark circles. Lemon Aid is a soft yellow correcting cream.

More Benefit fix-it’s are their You’re Bluffing Correcting Stick and Bluff Dust, both yellow correctors, as well as their Get Even and Play Sticks, which are skin tone colored correctors and concealers.

Another one I have heard of but haven’t used is Colorescience’s Corrector Brush with SPF 20. They sell it in Mint Condition (shown above), which is an aqua green or Yellow Rose of Texas, which is yellow.

If you have been using a product to conceal your uneven skin tone or Rosacea, please be sure to let us know what you’ve been using in the comments.
