Paula Abdul’s Choice of Lip Gloss on American Idol

Was it just me or were Paula Abdul’s lips really big with the wrong colored gloss on them tonight? I had only tuned into American Idol tonight to see if Sanjaya would do the KFC bowl hairdo, but was agast to see these really huge lips on Paula that looked like she tried to minimize by putting on super pale pink lip gloss. Almost like Meg Ryan after her plastic surgery and grossly huge lips…except Paula added lip gloss to the ordeal to make it all the more horrific.
Seriously, did anyone else notice this?

La Toya Jackson’s Eyelashes

I admit it, I watched an episode of Armed and Famous tonight. Beyond the weirdness of seeing Jack Osbourne in a police uniform, I had to wonder why someone as rich as La Toya Jackson simply couldn’t afford a nice pair of fake lashes. Has anyone else noticed this when they do a closeup? She has like 6 lashes for each eye, they stick up pointy straight (sort of like our friend Spongebob here) and they have so much distance between them, it’s like from me to New Hampshire. I hope no one told her they looked good because despite …read more

Attack of the Satin Hands

Ok this post really has nothing to do with makeup, but it has to do with Mary Kay and they sell makeup, so I deem it appropriate for this blog.
Today was an event I hold twice a year to raise money for The American Cancer Society (and we raised $1000 Woo!) It’s made up of crafters and direct sales vendors. One such vendor was a Mary Kay mother-daughter team or “Double the Satin Hands Trouble” as I like to call them. One big rule I have, is that you cannot be aggressive towards guests…that means trying to sell your products.
Alas, …read more

The Makeup “Artist”

The Makeup “Artist”

I use the word Artist pretty loosely here. This Makeup “Artist” is no true Makeup Artist per say, but more into the artform itself. The canvas? My bathroom walls and cabinet doors.
Basically the lesson I need to learn is 1. Do not leave my makeup in the makeup bag unzipped 2. leaving such makeup out on display is very tempting to little children 3. make sure that the most important makeup is placed way up high where a certain 2 year old cannot reach it.

Lesson learned, but how can I be mad at that beautiful grinning child?

An Unbeautiful Mary Kay Story Part Deux

If you read ebeautydaily then you are well aware of her post back in June commenting on Sweet Buzz’s post on Mary Kay. Basically the story is about Mary Kay rep.’s “Face Model” speech. I’m in no way trying to bash Mary Kay rep.’s, as I know quite a few who do not employ this tactic and are very wonderful people to work with. Also, I am in direct sales myself, and it is just not nice to bash someone.
However, I couldn’t help myself but to make this post today because prior to Christina’s post, I had never heard of …read more
