I feel a great mascara can open the eye and instantly make you look as though you’ve have a good night’s sleep, even when that is not the case.  I use 2-3 coats of Lancome Fatale on the top, bottom, and also on the back of the top lashes.

Get the Look: Anne Hathaway at the Tony’s

Celebrity makeup artist Julie Harris created Anne Hathaway’s simple but chic look at last night’s 63rd Annual Tony Awards in New York City. As Anne is the spokeswoman for Magnifique, she naturally used some key Lancôme products.
First, Julie applied Lancôme Modèle Sourcils in Naturel to shape and define her brows. She then applied Lancôme Artliner in Noir to her upper lash line. To make Anne’s eyes really pop, Julie coated her lashes with Lancôme Hypnôse mascara to give her lashes extra volume and finish the look. Meanwhile, Anne’s beautiful lips and cheeks were downplayed with just a subtle hint of …read more

Get the Look: Angelina Jolie at Cannes

Celebrity makeup artist Mary Burton created the glamorous look for Angelina Jolie at the Cannes Film Festival and we’ve got the inside scoop on what she used.
To define Angelina’s lashes Mary used two different mascaras, Lancôme Hypnôse in Black and Ôscillation in Black and applied a few coats of both to add volume and length. She also used Lancôme Color Design Lipstick in Candy Apple to create her voluptuous red pout.

I think Angelina looked quite lovely in Versace as she walked the red carpet for the premiere of Brad Pitt’s new movie Inglourious Basterds directed by Quentin Tarantino. What do you think …read more

Makeup Minute Top 10: How Not to Look Old

Beauty and fashion journalist Charla Krupp’s bestselling book How Not to Look Old has great tips for women of all ages on how to maximize their looks.  Here are ten of my favorites:

1) Pick pink for your pout.
2) Arch your brows upward.
3) Don’t outline your lips with a dark liner.
4) Whiten your teeth.
5) Cut some bangs.
6) Switch from powder to cream blush.
7) Soft is better than hard (makeup).
8) Illumination is better than darkness (face, hair).
9) Moist is better than dry (skin, lips, eyes).
10) Slim is better than heavy (eyeliner, clothing).
If you’d like to learn from the master (Krupp, that is) in …read more

Lancôme Goes Green!

Just in time for Earth Month, Lancôme’s introduced the latest edition to their gloss family,  Juicy Tubes PURE or Premium Unique Raw Elements. While not organic, they incorporate 95% natural origin ingredients and 100% natural origin flavors, making Juicy Tubes PURE a green-er take on the Lancôme classic.

Juicy Tubes are among my favorite glosses (I have several in my stash) thanks to their yummy scents, healthy pop of color and thick, slightly tacky consistency that stays put.  PURE are no different. Available in six shades, you’re sure to find (at least) one to love.
Juicy Tubes PURE are even packaged in a …read more

Lancome Color Fever Shine–L.U.C.I.

Ever since I got ahold of Lancome’s Color Fever Shine lip glosses and lipsticks from their L.U.C.I. collection, I have been singing that song “Fever” much to the chagrin of my children (who are sick of hearing it).
Here’s what I’ve tried:
Color Fever Gloss in Sunray (iridescent) and Seashell (fuchsia): Do not be afraid of Seashell. In the glass tube it appears hot pink, but once applied it is a nice berry color. For me as the time wore on, it had more of a flushed lip color to it. Sunray looks great alone or paired over lipstick.
