Pucker Up with Philosophy

Philosophy’s new Kiss Me Tonight is designed for bedtime use but I’m so hooked on this balm, I’ve been using it day and night.

Kiss Me Tonight has a beautifully emollient formula that’s thick and creamy, without a lot of gloss.  The scent is neutral – so if you have a significant other that hates the smell or taste of other balms, this may be the pick for you.
Snag a tub for yourself for $20 at www.philosophy.com.
p.s. If you’re a huge Philosophy buff (like, ahem, some people I know), follow them on Twitter via @lovephilosophy – they frequently offer up …read more

Make Up For Ever Lip Seal

When I was in New York , I stopped into Sephora in Times Square–a fabulous experience (but what a mad house!) I had heard a lot about Make Up For Ever and had long been wanting to try their Lip Seal, which touts that this coating on your lips will lock in your lipstick color all day long and won’t alter the color.
The first time I tried the Lip Seal, I only put on a thin layer over my lipstick. It wasn’t sticky and appeared to dry immediately. It did seem to take the shine away from my frosted lipstick …read more

Bella IL Fiore Double Agent Lip Tint

Bella IL Fiore Double Agent Lip Tint

This is a cool little beauty invention. Bella IL Fiore’s Double Agent Lip Tint looks like a marker, but it’s really a stain for your lips. The felt tip marker applicator precisely defines your lips when you use it as a liner, then you just rub it across your lips to fill it in with color.
I received mine in Soft Spoken Pink, which is close to the actual color of my lips. It goes on wet and at first looks shiny, but quickly dries and becomes matte. I also noticed it’s fragrance was plum.
I loved how easily and effortlessly I …read more

Upper Canada Soap & Candle Makers Lip Butter

Upper Canada Soap & Candle Makers Lip Butter

Let me be honest–I am a chocoholic. 100%. So when I heard that Upper Canada Soap & Candle Makers were looking for people to review their new Body Truffles line–I was all over it.
The Body Truffles line has three delicious flavors: Creamy Milk Chocolate, Double Chocolate Raspberry and Belgian White Chocolate. For the Lip Butter I received, it came in Belgian White Chocolate. Yum oh yum.
The Lip Butter is a creamy–just like butter–moisturizing balm that gives you a nice, almost lipgloss, shine. It smells like “real” chocolate..not that cheap dollar store chocolate, but delicious Belgian White Chocolate. I couldn’t believe …read more

LipSense Liquid Lip Color

Review from 8/2006:
When Dawn Christian, an Independent Rep. for SeneGence, emailed me and asked me to review LipSense, I was intrigued. I had never heard of SeneGence prior to Dawn’s email. She promised me I would love their best selling product, LipSense, which boasts to be a long wearing liquid lip color that lasts 4-12 hours. Since there are many times I just wish my favorite lip color would last for hours on end, I knew this was something I had to try.
Dawn sent me LipSense in Dusty Rose, LipSense Gloss in Pearl and LipSense Ooops Remover. She was careful …read more

Benefit Cosmetics Lip Plump

Benefit Cosmetics Lip Plump

I always choose not to read about a product before I test it out for myself. That way I am not biased when I review it—which lead me to believe that “lip plump” was a lip plumper. Don’t be fooled by the name, this product is a lip primer, not plumper.
Benefit Cosmetics Lip Plump is beige in color and is a little thick, not bad thick, but not lip gloss thin. It completely hid my natural lip color and it is a primer that you need to allow a few minutes dry time before you apply anything over it.
When you …read more

Inside Out Nutraceutical Lip Gloss by tarte

Back in January I was sent Inside Out, which was collaborated on with tarte Cosmetics and Borba. You can click back to the press release to hear all about the benefits of this lip gloss.
Have I ever used a nutraceutical lip gloss before? No. So I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect. I’ve also never used Borba’s products before, so again, not sure if the product would live up to its claims.
Pomegranate is suddenly being seen everywhere, and Inside Out’s scent is pomegranate. It is such a nice pleasant scent (and makes me a little hungry). I was sent two …read more

5 days of Lip Plumper Reviews

Thanks to Teri at Beautiful Makeup Search, next week will be geared towards reviews of lip plumpers. Hopefully my lips can withstand 5 full days of plumping action.
The 5 plumpers to be reviewed will be:
DuWop Venom Gloss in Wisteria.
Lumene Beauti-full Plumping Lipshine in Smiling.
Bare Escentuals Buxom Lips.
theBalm Plump Your Pucker in Bing my Cherry.
Ramy Rise & Shine Lip Gloss in Lil’ Something Something (which also happens to be a saying I would use when I was in college.)
Maybe you already have a favorite on the list? If so, share your thoughts on which you think will be the best.

So many products, so little time!

So many products, so little time!

My gosh the products are just rolling in! I received a fabulous package from tarte that contained: Inside Out lipgloss, cheekstain, mascara and mineral powder bronzer.
Last week I started testing out Lumiere’s mineral makeup (and wow she sure sent me a plethora of colors to try).
Teri, from Beautiful Makeup Search, was popping some lip plumpers in the mail for me to try and I have a feeling they are in my mailbox…and hopefully not frozen!
So stay tuned! You will see a few reviews here a little later today!
