Primed and Ready: Urban Decay

Urban Decay’s amazing Primer Potion is undoubtedly one of the most loved and iconic products today. The curvy purple tube is what I turn to when I need to make sure that my eyeshadow stays put for hours on end. So, it makes sense that Urban Decay thought to expand their primer empire this fall with the introduction of four new products:

Lip Primer Potion ($20) – Invisible and with SPF 15, this formula lays the foundation for true, rich lip color. Like the original Primer Potion, it also makes your lip color last longer and prevents feathering/fading.

Eyelash Primer Potion ($20) – This lash primer adds a layer of POW under your mascara – try it when you really want to make an entrance with long, thick lashes.

Complexion Primer Potion – Brightening ($30) – Perfect for dry OR oily complexions, this primer uses poly-peptide Matrixyl 3000 and Hyaluronic Filling Spheres to smooth and lightly firm and plump your complexion under makeup or alone.

Complexion Primer Potion – Pore Perfecting ($30) – For those looking for an airbrushed look, this semi-matte primer uses Dimethicone (yes, a silicone) to fill in pores and fine lines. Use just a wee bit under foundation or concealer for a flawless finish.

Mineral Magic: Everyday Minerals

I don’t know about you, but I’m not much of a mineral makeup gal myself. I usually prefer a dewier finish for my look and loose powders can be tough to work with if you’re not savvy about application. But Everyday Minerals makes it easy with their Resort Eye Palette.

The packaging on this palette is clever to begin with – each of the four versatile pink and brown shadows are contained neatly within individual compartments and the kit even includes a wee (yet useful!) brush for application.

The color payoff and texture on the Everyday Minerals shadows is quite nice as well. Try them with a primer (I like Urban Decay Primer Potion) and they’ll last all day.
