October is here, which means Breast Cancer Awareness is top of mind. I plan to feature several great products this month – some pink and some not – that donate proceeds to the cause and that kicks off today!
First up, CEW (that’s Cosmetics Executive Women, for those not in the trade!) Foundation’s Cancer and Careers (CAC) will be the beneficiary of a percentage of sales from these beautiful goodies:
· Bare Escentuals Believe Eyecolor: Through the BE Cares program, all purchases of this lovely ice-blue shadow in Sept. and Oct. will contribute toward a $25,000 …read more
New York Fashion Week: Marc by Marc Jacobs

The incomparable Dick Page, Shiseido’s Artistic Director worked his magic backstage at Marc by Marc Jacobs last week.
Always among the hottest shows of the season, the Spring 2010 collection felt very punk rock and ’80’s with bright splashes of color. So, Page focused primarily on the lips for the beauty look.
Models’ lips were prepped with Aquaphor (which I heart as a bedtime treatment!) before applying color to the lips. Next, Shiseido’s Perfect Rouge Lipstick in Fuschia (RS320) was applied, followed by a high pigment bright pink powder. The lips were completed with a dusting of Translucent Loose Powder.

Narciso Rodriguez is always among my very favorite New York Fashion Week shows. I love, love, love his minimalist aesthetic and architectural influences. The Spring 2010 collection was no different and the makeup look, created by Shiseido’s Artistic Director Dick Page, complemented the look beautifully.
The models skin for Narciso Rodriguez was left as pure as possible, using very light foundation where needed.
For the eyes, Dick first applied a makeup remover around the eyes with a fluffy brush to give a wet base and slightly glossy effect around the eyes. He then blended two shades of the Luminizing Satin Eye …read more

News of Fall 2009 collections is winding down and Holiday is starting to hit my radar. But before I get ahead of myself, let’s talk Shiseido.
The brand just introduced its Fall 2009 Makeup collection, created by Artistic Director and Allure contributor Dick Page. The inspiration for Shiseido Fall was drawn from mosaic art, bringing a variety of different shades together to create a “full wardrobe” of colors, one that would fulfill a woman’s basic needs for every occasion.
These colors are reflected in the new Luminizing Satin Eye Color Line, an elegant collection with the luminous look of fine silk. …read more

Remember when I told you about Shiseido’s new products? Well I got my hands on their automatic lip crayon and I have been in heaven ever since! You NEED this lip crayon because it is awesome–awesome I tell you!
Not only is this crayon a lip liner, but due to its creamy texture and glossy finish–it looks like you are wearing lipstick.
I was probably the most impressed with how luxe this lip crayon is. You know when you are lining your lips and the pencil somehow gets caught on your skin and messes up that perfect line you were aiming for? …read more

I’ve procrastinated and procrastinated and now I am out of makeup remover. I typically have used Mary Kay’s Makeup Remover, but I feel it is time to move on.
For a few months I had been thinking about “Not on my Pillow” by Benefit, but looking through their site tonight, I was so disappointed to see that they no longer sell it. So now I am on the hunt for a good makeup remover.
These are just a few I am thinking about:
Shiseido’s Elixir Perfect Makeup Cleansing Oil.
Although it is an oil, the description says that it doesn’t leave a sticky or …read more
