I’m putting together a post on my top ten favorite products of 2007 and wondered, what was your favorite makeup product this past year? I may just discover something I want to review in 2008!

Makeup Monday–Your Makeup Questions Answered

Ok readers, today is the first question in what I hope will be a weekly Monday series on Makeup Minute. If you have a makeup question you would like answered by your fellow Makeup Minute readers, please submit it to Shannon (at) b5media (dot) com
“My question is about makeup for women over 50. There is a large group of us out there & there is not much about the color you should wear when you are older. I do the natural look, as I always have. BUT can we wear metallic (gold & silver)? How about the luminating color to …read more

Do You Use Liquid Foundation Or Powder Foundation In The Winter?

It’s been so long since I’ve worn liquid foundation; it’s just something I only typically wear in the winter. With mineral makeup increasing in popularity and their foundations being mainly powders, I was wondering how many of you stick to powder foundations throughout the winter and how many of you are like me and use liquid and powder in the colder months?

Red Lipstick; Good For Everyone?

Experts say that, if worn in the right red “tone,” a red lipstick can look great on anyone.
I guess I am not convinced. I have always loved the look of red lipstick, but somehow I have never been able to pull it off. I sure do wish I had my sister’s olive skin that she was genetically blessed with from my father’s Italian genes. However, I have pale skin, just like my mother from Irish decent. Sure Gwen Stephani can rock red lipstick with her porcelin skin, but my skin has that certain amount of pink to it, that red …read more

Too Much Makeup, Too Little Space

Let’s see. Right now I have makeup in makeup bags, in drawers, on the counter top, in my medicine cabinet and in my handbag. If you only saw my countertop right now, you would hardly know its white. Everything it literally back to back, covering the entire counter.
My husband says he wants me to get shelves to hold everything. That’s probably a good idea, however I also have a plethora of hair products, shower gels, lotions, facial products….well you get the idea. Basically, my bathroom could be its own beauty store. Can anyone relate?
So I’ve been thinking about getting a …read more

Just one makeup brand

You are going on a “3 hour tour” and thinking back to Gilligan’s Island, you decide to take some makeup with you. You can only take one brand…which would it be?

NYC: 4 days and counting (and no makeup!)

I leave bright and early this Saturday morning to head to Manhattan for a fabulous weekend thanks to Pierce Mattie PR. It sounds so silly, but I absolutely hate the fact that I have to meet all of my co-workers and Pierce for the first time without any makeup on. You only get one shot to make a good first impression, how about trying it without your favorite lipgloss?
Although I know it is for my “before” pictures, meaning BAT–Before Alyn Topper–I still dread walking through those doors with my uneven skin coloring and possibly puffy looking eyes from not sleeping …read more

“Promise” in a lip gloss

Last night I wrote a post on the Beauty PR blog about this lip gloss called “Promise” that claims you can lose weight by using it. Sounds unbelievable right? I thought so too.
Have any of you used Promise? Here is the link to the post: Lose Weight With a Lip Gloss? I think it sounds a little outrageous. Make sure to let us know what you think….and if you have indeed used it, I’d love to hear how it worked.

BADgal Blue Mascara

Benefit’s new BADGal blue mascara came into my inbox the other day. At first I blew off the email, I mean blue mascara? Didn’t I wear that in 1988 or something? I even remember wearing it in my hair (remember Pizzaz?)
However, what caught my eye was the benefits of wearing blue mascara that Benefit listed in the email.

*Makes eyes appear brighter.
*Makes the whites of your eyes appear whiter.
*Makes hazel eyes appear greener.
I am always looking for things to enhance my eyes because I so love my hazel eyecolor. Of course, I started using a well known trick that I will …read more
