tarte Cheek Stains

tartecheekstainSo I finally got up the courage to inquire with tarte about their cheekstains. Many of you commented how much you loved them and I figured I should give them a try. My contact at tarte was also surprised that I have never tried them. I know I know, let’s not remind me how much I haven’t tried yet. (But that is all part of the fun though, the trying things out and making new discoveries.)

So along with many other fabulous products she sent, I received TWO of tarte’s cheek stains. I was excited that I would be trying one, but two? Oh tarte you spoil me. Also, why didn’t anyone warn me that this is a really big product? Wow, impressive indeed.

tarte sent me flush (seen in the picture) and tipsy. Flush is said to be that “just in from the cold/cozying up by the fire” type color and tipsy, well described to be the color you get when you’ve have one too many.

I first looked at flush and thought, “Yikes, red and purple sort of!” I was afraid of this plumb red color. As we get deeper into the winter, my skin just seems to get paler and paler. I thought it would be too dark/bright, but I was wrong. It was actually pretty nice and a color that goes great with the darker colors I wear on my eyes at times. I can also see this being the perfect blush for a night out.

tipsy is almost more of a color that highlights the natural blush color of your cheeks. I wore this one today with my plumb and light lavenderish pink eyeshadows. It looked perfect.

I took everyone’s advice and used a wedge sponge to apply it, although I think it may be just as easy to rub the bottle on my cheeks directly because of the roundess of the stain–almost like a roll on deodorant. They each had a scent to them too that I found pretty.

I’m definitely glad I listened to YOU and gave them a try!

Welcome to the club! Aren’t they great? I’ve never tried applying them with a wedge sponge, but that’s a neat tip that I’ll have to try. I usually just dab it right on right out of the tube and maybe blend in if I have to.

I have been eyeing this cheek stain for ages, but the color scared me… just a wee bit, but I think that I’m going to go for it. My complexion definitely needs a bit of livening up. We seem to have the same coloring, so I will start out with “flush” and go from there! Thanks for the push… ;)

Yay for finally trying these - I love them! I don’t apply mine with a sponge, either - I either swipe the stick across my cheekbone and blend, or I swirl my middle finder on top of the stick and dab it on my cheeks that way.

Started wearing “flush” about 2 years ago. It is great for the summer months when you just want a light weight color on your face. I think this color goes with anybody’s complexion. I am like the other, just right from the “tube” for me. But a sponge may work well also!

Also try Tarte’s Rise & Shine lip stain and plumper gloss in Cherry. One end a stain in a pretty Cherry Red the other a pretty pink plumper. Perfect for everyday wear!

RE: TARTE stains. I found them too greasy. (And I have very dry skin!) Because of this, the color appeared blotchy and did not last long.

Very true. Even though they are supposed to be stains, they feel like regular blush gels. And since i can get a bit oily, the tarte wipes away pretty easily. but the colors sure are pretty.

I love these a well. They go on so pretty. I love Tipsy as well, it’s my favorite. Although i love them i sometimes have a hard time applying it correctly. Doers anyone have any tips?

As a matter of fact I think I HAVE tried tarte’s cheek stains. When I saw the bottle of flush it made me remember trying to get into a bottle of my cousin’s cheek stain (which i’m sure was tarte) awhile back and somehow ripping the whole lid off of it, and it splattering all over the room and onto my white linen skirt. Anyways, it’s a lovely color.

oh dear, that stain must have been a pain! (carrie bradshaw would be proud) I think the one that you splattered might have been the beneTINT one though. The tarte cheek stains are solid (kinda like gel deoderant) lol sorry if that was a gross example!

  10. Ashley Samantha says:

Oooh ok thanks. Lol, love the Carrie Bradshaw reference — can’t wait for the movie! I watched the leaked preview like 10 times this week.

The best shades in this line are Dollface and Cloud 9. I think everyone should try them.

dont let the name “stain” fool you. these do not saty on the skin the way a stain would. mine comes
off shortly after i’ve left the house! i wish it were a satin!
