In the Pink with Anastasia

Believe it or not, I firmly believe that blush is the single beauty item that makes the biggest difference in my day to day look. And while I flit around from brand to brand or cream to powder, I tend to stick with just a handful of colors that work for me, in particular, a true pink.

My latest blush find is Anastasia’s Blush Quad. This sleek silver palette houses four feminine and flattering pinks. The powders are finely milled and apply beautifully, while the compact is a dream to tuck in your bag or travel with. My fave hue is the shimmering peachy-pink that’s second from left.

While Anastasia is best known for her brow products, this palette is a new favorite of mine so I’m looking forward to trying more goodies from the line. Snag the Blush Quad for $35 at www.anastasia.net.

Look for Less: Victoria’s Secret

Guerlain’s gorgeous Meteorites Powders have long taunted me from the shelves at Sephora. But $53 is a steep price to pay for a complexion enhancer in this economy.

Thankfully, Victoria’s Secret has created a budget-conscious dupe with the new Heidi Klum Luminous Face Powder Gems. Inspired by Heidi’s life-changing trip to the spiritual city of Varanasi, India, the packaging is beyond lovely and what’s inside is pretty fab too.

These multi-colored spheres deliver a really natural looking radiant all-over glow or a nice pop of cheek color depending on how you apply.

I like to swirl a blush brush in a circular motion, then lightly tap to remove the excess pigment, applying a light hand all-over the face, with an extra pop of color on the cheeks.

Get Carrie Underwood’s Gorgeous Grammy Glow

Grammy night brought out some fabulous glamour, and we got the scoop on how America’s favorite country starlet got her gorgeous glow. Check it out:

For Carrie’s amazingly luminous skin:

Whisp DEX New York’s Modern Mineral Glow on the apples of your cheeks.

And for her sultry, smokey eyes:

Sweep DEX New York’s Modern Mineral Loose Pigment shadow in City Center Brass over the lower half of your lids, extending up to the crease.

Next, apply DEX New York’s Pressed Pigment Shadow in Wall St. Onyx to the outer corner of your eyes.
Next, using a black eye liner pencil, rim the inside of your entire eye on both the top and bottom.
And finally, use the same eye pencil to apply a line along the top lashes, gradually making it thicker as you approach the outer corner of your eyes.

Voila! A look as lovely as Ms. Underwood’s. Now, if only you had an award’s show to attend, hey?

Sonia Kashuk Spring 2008

Makeup For All–no wonder Sonia Kashuk’s line is found at Target. She brings gorgeous colors and tools out in her Spring 2008 collection at completely affordable prices.

Shimmery neutral colors can be found in her eye shadow duo “Tongue in Cheek.” A sand color for the brow bone and lid and a milk chocolate color for the crease.

Her ergonomic Blusher Brush has synthetic hairs that are super soft. While I thought this brush was a little big, I liked how the handle curved to the shape of my hand.

I also used her Beautifying Blush in Melon (34)–and the color truly resembles the fleshy color of a watermelon. Sonia Kashuk’s Sheer Lip Glossing with No-Feather Pencil kicks ass. The top portion of the tube contains a lip pencil that is a pale pink color. When you apply it–it is translucent. Apply the Sheer Lip Glossing with its brush applicator and you have gorgeous shimmery, no-feather lips. “Sexy” is a plum color that I am wearing and it is long lasting.

Voila! The colors on me. I couldn’t find most of the products I received on Target’s website, but I believe they are all available in store. There are so many more goodies here for me to try out and those reviews will be posted in the days to come.
