Anastasia’s Brow Stencils are literally the best brow invention ever. For anyone using a pencil to measure where your arch should be and the length of your brows, you can now put it away. For my brows I used the Petite Arch Brow Stencils.

Now the Tinted Brow Gel I have is a little lighter than my brows normally are, so I’ll have to get a darker color, however, I still loved the “summer” color it gave me.

The tweezers, ZOMG, the best. I can’t even believe how sharp they are and I just breezed through plucking.

The Go Brow Universal Brow Pencil’s pink side worked really fabulous at hiding all of that redness along my brow bone from plucking, but also gave my brows that definitive line.

The Brow Filler worked great on the areas of my brows that seem to be more sparse with hair than others. The best part? I bet you can’t even tell from this picture where those sparse areas are! Love it!

So Anastasia I bow down to you, my brows look fabulous once again and I can feel like my face is complete.

While I was given a full size and travel size set of tweezers, me being a girl who loves pink, decided to use the pink polka dot travel size tweezers. Using small tweezers did take some getting used to, but what can I say, I love pink.

It’s amazing how a brand new set of tweezers works magic on your brows. I really worked my old ones into the ground–having the same one for a year and half! So using Tweezerman’s slanted tweezers that really took a firm hold of my each brow hair reminded me how quickly I could do my brows when I actually have a good set of tools!

Each side of the tweezer can also be dually used-slant side for general tweezing and the high side of the slant for precision work. My friend Elke does the most amazing job on brows and I figure using these tweezers are the closest thing I can get to her craftmanship. (I believe she loves Tweezerman too!)

What they say:

What I thought:

I can’t say I noticed any dramatic lengthening, but my lashes did appear to be slightly longer. I also noticed that my lashes curled, especially those lashes on the outter most part of my eye. This mascara was smudge-proof as well. I want to say that this was a no frills mascara and I don’t mean that in a bad way. So many mascara’s want to promise you the world (can it do my laundry and cook dinner?) and very few can deliver on their promises. I liked the simpleness of this mascara.

What they say:

This versatile conditioning gel has a specially designed brush so it can be used to tame and set unruly brows for a polished look or used on lashes for natural definition. The brush has longer bristles on one side for lashes and shorter bristles on the other side for brows. Great for use on ‘no make-up’ days so lashes and brows look defined.

What I thought:

Who knew what a difference this gel could make when applied to your brows? I not only used the Lash & Brow Perfector to mold my brows into shape as part of my makeup routine, but I also found it made trimming them incredibly easy by holding the hairs firm and steady.

The wand is so unique with one side having short bristles and the other longer bristles. I agree that using this clear gel on your lashes makes them more defined and is definitely perfect for your no makeup days.

Top celebrity makeup artist (and a good friend of mine), Elke von Freudenberg, will be the first to tell you that eyebrows can make or break a model’s career. She should know. She’s worked on some of the top models for major modeling agencies in New York and Los Angeles such as Elite, Next, Wilhelmina and Ford, and perfect eyebrows are key, especially when designing a look for a new model.

“The first thing I see in eyebrows gone bad are two things. Eyebrows that look like a straight line and eyebrows that are not balanced in their shape, as in too thick in the front and too thin at the end.” Elke offers her expert techniques to creating the perfect “model eyebrow.”

1. Everyone understands where the eyebrow starts, but not where it ends. Line up a pencil at the end of the nose, towards the corner of the eye. That’s where the line of your eyebrow should end. This is also where your eye shadow should end, as well.

2. Balance to the eyebrows are very important. You want to make sure that they’re not uneven. From where it starts to where it ends, the line of the eyebrow should be horizontal. If you line up a pencil at the beginning and the end of the brow lines up too high, you know you’ve tweezed too much.

3. The Model Eyebrow is a shape that looks great on everyone. From the start of the eyebrow to the arch, the line is straight. From the arch to the end of the eyebrow, the line is softly curved. It’s a classic eyebrow shape that’s always in and looks great on everyone.

4. Avoid creating a straightness in your eyebrows by not tweezing above the eyebrow. By tweezing on top, you tend to flatten the shape, making it very difficult to create a high flowing arch. You get your arch only by tweezing underneath, never on top.

5. If you are getting that pinching ouch when tweezing, do what the pros do. Grab the hair with tweezers and pull the hair with the tips of the tweezer touching the skin as you pull. Pull in the direction that the hair grows, and you’ll find tweezing to be virtually painless. Why? It’s the pulling up of the skin that hurts, not the hair. By keeping the skin flat, you eliminate much of the sting factor.

6. If you find yourself breaking out after tweezing your eyebrows, keep it sanitized. Use witch hazel on a cotton ball before and after you tweeze to avoid those little red bumps.

7. Ideally, the best shape is the natural line that your eyebrow already is. If your eyebrows are extremely thick, a very thin eyebrow will not work for you. If your eyebrows are thin, trying to maintain a thicker eyebrow will be too much work. Just as in hair texture, work with what you have. Softer facial features enhance a thinner, more elegant eyebrow, while a strong bone structure is the perfect face for a thicker, stronger eyebrow.

8. The secret to model eyebrows, is to never completely wax your eyebrow. Models know that eyebrow looks come and go, and if you wax only, you lose the ability to grow in your eyebrows at a later date should you want to change your look. The best technique is to just wax the hairs that are not needed and tweeze to define the shape of the eyebrow.

If you’ve watched the Bravo series, “Blow Out” then you are sure to know who Alyn Topper is. Both my husband and I liked watching it because I couldn’t believe that Jonathan was really that dramatic, although I hear his products are really good.

A month ago I found out Alyn was coming to NYC through an email Pierce sent out. Being the slacker that I am, I waited until 2 weeks ago to call Alyn’s assistant to try to set an appointment for March. Today she called me back and I will be meeting Alyn in person on March 3rd for a haircut.

I can’t even tell you how excited I am about this. I honestly think I am going to just let my hair continue to grow out until that date, although I am at my wits end with it right now and might consider a trim in the next week or so. I want my transformation to be dramatic…in true drama queen style of course.

Anyway, beyond seeing Michael Jackson at Disney World when I was 12, this is the closest to celebrity I have come. Plus, I will be about 7.5 months pregnant and in dire need of some serious pampering. I’m ecstatic that I will be able to get this hair transformation from someone as talented as Alyn.

It’s really hard to find a good pair of tweezers. My eyebrows have been in disarray because I purchased some tweezers, thinking they were going to be good, but much to my disappointed and my eyebrows on crack…they were not.

So when I read Elke’s review on Esthetic Plus’ tweezers, I knew that if Elke raved about them, then they had to be good. Just a little while longer I told myself looking at my almost unibrow.

Yesterday I received my Esthetic Plus tweezers and quickly ran up to the bathroom to end the misery of my overgrown brows. Elke knew what she was talking about; these tweezers rock.

I received the slanted tweezer with the non-slip grip as pictured above. I I loved how well they gripped each hair, not slipping and causing me to have to keep trying to repull it. Since they worked right the first time, it took less time to get the tweezing done. As we all know, I am a big fan of saving time.
