She wore it everyday since she was 16 years old when she fled Greece and took a boat by herself to Ellis Island carrying nothing with her but the clothes on her back and a loaf of bread. She landed in NYC speaking no English, alone in a strange country and had to start her life from scratch. She wore this locket for over 60 years and it represents her strength, perseverance, love and faith and how she overcame so many obstacles throughout her life. I wear the locket now and plan to give it to my daughter in a few years when she is old enough to understand all that it represents.”

Hubby was used to buying extravagant gifts and would never buy what you asked for because then it wouldn’t be a surprise. All I wanted was a cheap black purse and a new pillow. March 21: Lucky Joanna wins a pair of Kathryn Kerrigan shoes. She said, “My favorite pair of shoes are a pair of L.A.M.B. pumps that I purchased as a treat for myself last fall when I was in NYC. It is my only pair of designer shoes and I love them. They are perfect to wear with my favorite jeans or they can easily be worn with a more dressier outfit. These Kathryn Kerrigan Veronica pumps are even prettier though! These shoes are just dreamy!”
