Apparel brand Distilled is all about “geek chic”. The San Francisco based menswear line consists of jackets, shirts, knits and t-shirts. Founders Sep Kamvar and Matty Merrill befriended one another while attending Standford University. Matty studied fashion under the wing of Matt Kahn, while Sep was a graduate for Math. Even though Sep lacks a fashion background, he considers himself the better dresser of the two.
Like most companies, Distilled cares about what’s most important and those three things are: quality, fit and service.
When it comes to quality, Distilled uses the best fabrics around. What’s even better is there Costumer Service. Say you accidentally tear one your purchases, this is where the Free Garment Repairs for Life comes in to effect. Other benefits from their customer service are Free 3 day Shipping, Free Shipping on Returns or Exchanges and Free custom fittings.
As a independent company and believer in human-scale economics, Distilled believes doing things on a much “smaller” scale, which means limiting the amount of retailers and spending little to none on advertising. With this, the company hopes to build a much more loyal fan base over time.
On the front of this eye popping black fleece hoody, you’ll see a white Spirograph. The Spiro hoody is 100% cotton and is priced at $86. Sizes: S, M, L, and XL. DYK: Distilled actually made the Spirograph design on their computer, and later embroidered it.
On the body of this comfy gray tee is the classic Houndstooth textile pattern. Price: $34 Sizes: S, M, L, XL.
The last item, which also happens to be part of their Spring collection really defines “geek chic” . The model is wearing a Riviera Street shirt, paired with a classic black bow tie.

Great article! And I am definitely a better dresser than Matty.
