I’m sure you all are somewhat familiar with Acme Studios. The swatch company just released some funky modern-day watches that have a unique styling to them. Not only that, but they’re affordable as well!
Adrian Olabuenaga and his wife Lesley Bailey first established ACME studios in the city of Los Angeles circa 1985. Their first collection was designed by Peter Shire, a famous sculpture who’s often associated with the Memphis Group-a popular architecture movement in the 80’s. The Memphis Designers for Acme was their hugest collection at that time. What also made this collection so special, was that it had over fourteen different designers showcasing their collection. The prestigious watch collection can now be seen at popular art museums such as the: Denver Art Museum, Brooklyn Museum of Art and Frankfurt Museum of Decorative Arts.
In 2007, Acme Studios launched their first flagship store in Tokyo, Japan. Now just two years later Acme opened up another store in Tokyo: the Shin-Marunouchi Building, in February.
