CEO of Sole Technology Pierre Andre Senizergues

In an interview with Caught in the Cross Fire, Pierre recalls his earliest memory of wanting to start a shoe line:

I was looking at skateboarding shoes and I didn’t really see anybody making good skate shoes at the time so I figured I could try shoes and see what happened. I thought that one thing I could contribute to was stabilizing the skateboard market because it was the seventies and skateboarding was dying. I’m not even necessarily talking about the shoes but skateboarding as a whole. In ‘78 and ‘79 I saw skateboarding dying immediately and by ‘87 it went big and then ‘88 and ‘89 it died again and I was like “damn what a bummer”, and I thought I should try to do something to stabilise skateboarding as a whole so the kids can be supported.

Ramillon opened his equipment company in 1930, selling ski’s and tents. He provided the French Troops with ski bindings during World War II. His good deed didn’t go unnoticed, thanks to bindings he provided to the French Alpine Troops, he meet ski champion Lionel Terray, who played a huge role in the success of Moncler.

Jackets from their 2009 Spring/Summer Collection

Andre and Ramillon made their first jacket in 1952, aiding a body of workers during the harshest of winters “They looked more like blue boxes than clothes” recalls one of the workers. When Terray returned from a expedition in Canada, right away he noticed the jackets warmth and light wight feel, because of this he asked Ramillion to supply him with overalls, gloves, and sleeping bags.

As Rene began experimenting with different materials, Terray would critique the clothing and material, thus becoming a technical consultant. Rhône-Poulenc joined in on this “experiment” offering a sample of Tergal, which at the time time seemed small, but helped Moncler in a big way.

In the end the hard work paid off. In 1954 Moncler’s jacket were chosen to equip the Italian Karkorum, in 1964 they became supplier for the Alaskan Expeidition and in 1968 they designed clothing for the French Alpine skiing Team in the Grenoble Olympics

Moncler launched their first collection in 1998 and the rest was history.

The Casual line Clothlogic has a wide variety of sweaters, v-necks, and cardigans. ClothLogic has been featured in numerous magazine such as Alternative Press and Instinct. The 86 Henley makes a statement. It’s great buy for those who are big on vintage. The 86 Henley is decorated in numbers, writings, and various graphics.
