Pretty by Nature

A Natural Pedicure.

pedicureA few friends of mine took me for a couple of refreshing Spa days over the weekend. The spa was terrific, and I was happy to find on the spa services menu many natural beauty treatments. One of the natural treatments I indulged in was the Natural Pedicure.

The Natural Pedicure started with my feet soaking in a tub of very warm salt water. Yup – Salt from the Dead Sea. It was to have drawn the toxins out of my feet, and in other words, dry them out. It was strange, as she kept adding more salt and water to the mix, and had my feet bathe for just about thirty minutes. My feet were then rinsed and soaked in a much cooler bath of lemons, to aid in the detoxification process. This was a much quicker process which lasted about five minutes. The tech then drained the water and drew another foot bath for me and only adding peppermint and tea tree oils. It smelled so delicious! And finally, my feet were feeling much more like they should have. Before my polish, my feet were massaged with more Tea Tree Oil, and then a Tea Tree Oil lotion that was enriched with Shea Butter. I wish these products were available for sale, but the Spa makes their own products that they use, so there was none available to take home.

I was very delighted to say the least. What started as a bit strange to me, was quite the treat. My feet felt so refreshed and are still softer than ever.

How fun! I think I may try to duplicate this procedure at home. Why not?
