Pretty by Nature

Alicia Silverstone’s Sexy Veggie PSA

September 22, 2007 by Teri Cosenzi

Alicia has always been a very vocal vegan, and am happy that she continues to take a stand. Even how controversial it may be, though I don’t find this controversial one bit.

I guess that this latest PETA ad is being banned in different cities across the United States. This is nothing new for PETA, but I also thought that the right to free speech was nothing new either.

Puleeze – I have seen much worse on Sunday night TV!

Go, Alicia!

The whole issue is so totally overblown, i wrote about the same video, yesterday on eco blog, Keetsa. The video is not even one minute long, and what should be blocked from network and cable TV is violence, not stuff like this. So twisted.

PETA only benefits from this controversy, so more power to them.

I so agree, Missy! It is obviously more of a political ban – that is the only reason I can think that this would be banned. I do not find this ad offensive at all, and like I said, there is so much worse on network TV, that this is an insult.

I think it is a beautiful and artistic video. I wasn’t offended in the least. It’s amazing what someone decides as inappropriate. I was watching a movie the other night (title escapes me) and we had captions on. The blocked out the word “n” but we could read it in the captions.

That’s outrageous! I’ve seen so much worse on basic tv! I don’t see why that commercial, which is advocating someone good (unlike the rest of the garbage we see on tv on a daily basis), should be banned!

Maybe I’m missing something here- why are people upset about this ad? I’m so tired of “these” people in the U.S. I’m sure the Beef Industry had something to do with it too.

Anyway… I’ve noticed that vegatarians always have clear, glowing skin and eyes (and low cholestrol as well!)

  6. Liberty says:

This ad is phenomenal, and I agree, they are advocating something positive here. Though I don’t know if I could personally lead a vegan lifestyle, I admire Alicia a million times over for doing so. It shows commitment and a sense of self-worth that very (VERY!) few Hollywood-ers project.

And…she looks GORGEOUS to boot. Go, Alicia!

  7. ecoshopper says:

I guess the powerful animal food industry might have influence to ban this video. Why would this ad be banned in cities where most liberals live. This banning had to be at the top in conservative owned local tv stations. You can be conservative and a vegan too!

Its just hot and sexy thats all…
