Taking a look over at Burt’s Bees, they are taking their natural standard campaign to the next level. They need our help.

I need to tell you a bit more about the lip gloss. I recently picked up two of these, one in Park Avenue Pink and one in Park Avenue Bling. Park Avenue Pink is the natural, glowy pink that looks good on just about anyone, while Park Avenue Bling is a bit “pinker” with some shimmer to it.

Let me first say that these lip glosses are so much more like a balm, in that they are so moisturizing and long-lasting. Could it be all that grapeseed oil, shea butter, aloe vera extract and vitamin E that is in each tube?

These glosses are so natural, with no petroleum or mineral, or anything artificial whatsoever. Each gloss is available online or in select Sephora stores.

Alicia has always been a very vocal vegan, and am happy that she continues to take a stand. Even how controversial it may be, though I don’t find this controversial one bit.

I guess that this latest PETA ad is being banned in different cities across the United States. This is nothing new for PETA, but I also thought that the right to free speech was nothing new either.

Puleeze – I have seen much worse on Sunday night TV!

I really enjoy SpaRitual nail care products, and some lucky celebs just got to enjoy some too.

Scrub Away Dead Summer Skin.

I don’t know about you, but I have some left over icky dry skin trying to slough itself away. And it needs some major help.

While I love scrubs of all kinds, my favorite scrubs have to be sugar scrubs. And when I went into my beauty closet, there was not a single sugar scrub to be found. Ugh. What to do, what to do? Make my own! So, I pulled out my handy dandy homemade beauty recipe files and forgot how many I have! Whoa – I will be trying a different one every few days until I get my skin soft, smoothe, and on the move. (Sorry – it’s early!)

Just in case you would like to join in with me and scrub away the dead summer skin on yourself, here are my sugar scrub recipes:
Brown Sugar Scrub
1/2 cup of brown sugar
1/4 cup of almond oil
1/4 cup of liquid Ivory hand soap
1/4 tsp of vanilla
Lemon Sugar Scrub
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup olive oil
1 TBS lemon zest (grated)
Lavender & Rosewood Scrub
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup almond oil
1/2 tsp vitamin E
6 drops rosewood essential oil
4 drops lavender essential oil
Coffee & Brown Sugar Scrub
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup white sugar
3 TBS fresh coffee grounds
5 tsp almond oil
5 tsp jojoba oil
2 tsp honey
1 tsp vitamin E
1 tsp vanilla
Tea Sugar Scrub
2 cups white sugar
1 cup honey
2 TBS tea
5 drops vanilla

Pure and Positive Energy.

I just had to share something that really struck me as true. I came upon this saying this morning, and have not been able to get it out of my mind.

Want beautiful skin? Drink lots of water and eat delicious, local, organic foods. Get a little sunshine and plenty of exercise. Give freely, love unconditionally, and don’t forget to breathe. The quality of your skin is a direct reflection of your inner health, and all those pricey, promising creams won’t help if you don’t nourish your whole being.

And when you want to treat your body’s largest organ to something yummy, remember this: what you put on it is as important as what you put in it. Your skin is a sponge. It drinks up whatever you offer it. So choose pure plant medicine over petrochemicals, organic love over toxic soup. Choose organic herbs, pure essential oils, and crystal infusions.

This really struck a chord with me. It comes from a site called Blooming Lotus, a small soap company from Kansas City.

Looks like I will have to try some of their bath and body items. I am really in awe of independent soap makers and how true they stay to their beliefs.

Pretty by Nature was one of the first ten blogs in the Beauty & Style Channel here at b5media. Since then, the channel has been growing and growing and growing – to a total of 25 blogs now! w00t!

I am thrilled to report the following blogs that have just launched in the network:

The first is CelebLOOK and you must check this one out. First, because it is written by moi, and there will be no other place on the web like it. I will break down the makeup and fashion looks that the celebs are wearing, like no one else.

Then there is Beauty Gizmo. Beauty Gizmo will be the place to go to find out all about the latest and greatest beauty gadgets, where Sophia will answer our number one question – do these gadgets really work?

Last but not least, there is the Teen Style Lounge. Pull up a chair, sit back, relax, and check out what the lovely Liberty (aka The Snarkstress) has found to be hotter than hot in the tween/teen market. Not only am I hooked, my twelve year old daughter considers it a daily must read!
