Eat These Foods For Healthy Skin

I have always focused on good skincare. Growing up with pimples, it was hell. I used any and every product that I could get my hands on. In addition to that, I took supplements, including Zinc and Vitamin E, which Mom said would help. It did. A little.

Now, I’m in my 40s and I am even more impeccable with my skincare. I wear sunscreen all the time, I would never go to bed without washing my face first. I use eye cream, moisturizer, firming creme, toner, exfoliators, over the counter peels……..the list goes on, and I’m happy to say that these days my skin looks pretty good.

Diet plays a big part in good skin care. Remember that advice against eating fried foods when you were a kid?  Well, keep it up.  French fries taste good, but they are definitely not going to make any part of you more beautiful. For the best possible skin, add these foods to your diet:

*Strawberries.  I read years ago that strawberries were the number one food to eat for healthy skin. All that lovely Vitamin C and it’s antioxidant properties. It’s a no-brainer, really. Honestly, I eat a strawberry and I feel happier somehow. I’m not sure if they are still number one, but I know that I love them, so they are topping my list.

*Milk or other Lowfat Dairy products. Dairy products contain Vitamin A and in order to have healthy skin, it’s imperative that your diet contains sources of Vitamin A. Yogurt has the added benefit of acidophilus, which is a live bacteria. It aids in digestion and that good digestion leads to healthier skin.

*Citrus fruits. Citrus fruits are also high in Vitamin C and bioflavonoids. Citrus fruits help to boost collagen for firmer skin.

*Salmon. Salmon is rich in essential fatty acids. Fatty Acids reduce inflammation and help with eczema and rosacea.

*Water. We can go for quite awhile without food, but the body fails fairly quickly without water. Water helps to flush the system. When getting a massage, it’s important to drink water before and after the massage to help clear the toxins from your system.
