Green is Black is a Canadian-based family-run online retail store that carries eco-friendly fashion for a variety of designers. Their mandate is
to purchase clothing that was both sustainable and appealed to our craving for soft, sensuous, beautiful, and body-celebrating clothing; shoes and accessories that were vegeco and therefore free of PVC/vinyl, and hip, funky and sexy to boot (no pun intended!)…In following the principles of socially responsible investing, we must put positive pressure on other businesses to get on board and reduce their collective footprint by demonstrating that an ethical business does not have to be in the red, and in fact that if they don’t pull up their pesticide-laden, bleached, sweat-shop produced socks that they will fall behind. Consumers have the right and the presence of mind to ask for more, and they’re doing it in increasing numbers.
I scoured their e-shelves for you and below are some of my favorite pieces they have in stock.
Sweater Shrug
I’ve always loved the look of a sweater shrug. I like to pair them with cute flats and pretend I’m accomplished dancer (yeah, I’m that lame). It give you another sweater option besides my staple cardigans to keep those summer tops in use well into the fall and winter too!

This particular shrug, by Paper People Clothing, is made out of recycled acrylic, wool and cotton sweaters . Each one is completely one-of-a-kind. It’s $45.00 and can be ordered here.
More clothing after the jump!
Earth Trimmed Tank
This girly tank by Ecoganik adds flair to an otherwise boring item. I love the ruffles around the collar and the subtle pink graphic. It’ll add cheer to any wardrobe.

I’d pair this organic cotton piece with skinny jeans and flats or a slim skirt, tights and flats. You need to show those ruffles off! This tank is made out of organic cotton, costs $72.00 and can be ordered here.
Neko Tunic
Preloved is a fantastic store that makes new clothing out of old. This is their sleeveless tunic, which is made out of vintage sweaters. Each piece is 100% original so you won’t get exactly what is pictured.

I’d go more conservative than the model and layer it with a ruffled-neck shirt for a more formal look, or a colorful t-shirt for a more casual one. This particular garment is $90.00 and can be ordered here.Green is Black sells men’s clothing, accessories and shoes too! Be sure to check out everything else they have to offer!
