Green Things I Love: Tom’s Shoes
I love my Tom’s Shoes.
Love them. I got them about a month ago, because I needed some new flats to tromp around in this summer. They were about $45 at my local shop and you can get them cheaper online.
So here is the deal with Tom’s Shoes. For every pair of shoes you buy, a pair of shoes will go to a needy child elsewhere in the world. So really, you’re buying two pairs of shoes. Great cause. So far 200,000 shoes have ben donated in 2008.
On top of that these are amazingly comfortable shoes. They are leather inside, but they won’t get all stinky. Mine are in the pretty polka-dot print and they come out with new styles every season. There’s even a cool madras print right now!
I will say that the soles wear out pretty quickly. They’re an EVA sole, so they’re very squishy but I drag my feet a lot, so the textured bottom is nearly gone. I don’t think that’s too terrible though. I can probably wear these for the rest of the year before I need to replace them.

Great review on Toms. I’ve never worn a pair before, but am thinking of ordering some. I blog about comfortable, stylish shoes so I think it’s high time I feature Toms–love the company’s big heart.
I LOVE Tom’s shoes..not only are they cute and comfy, but I LOVE what they stand for. I have included them in 2 TV segments already…and I love to see that not just 20 and 30-something’s respond to them…my mother in law actually asked for a pair and I bought her a pair for xmas! The sparkly ones, no less! As far as I’m considered, Tom’s are a wardrobe staple.
