How-To Find the Perfect Pair of Jeans

I love jeans. I love the fit, the style, and the comfort. I love the versatility – dress them up, dress them down. If you love jeans like I do, then use the following tips to find your perfect pair…..
*If you’ve got a slim boyish figure, then go for the low-cut denims. Your figure type can most definitely pull them off.
*Ladies with an apple shape should look for jeans with a mid-rise, rather than a low-rise. I’m an hour glass who is currently apple-y and I hate having to constantly pull my pants up. The mid-rise fit is more comfortable and comfort is why we wear jeans in the first place.
*Mid-rise works well for a pear shape, too. Chose a pair with a wide waistband and make sure that the pockets are on the large size. A too-small pocket will make your bottom look larger, in comparison.
*Colored jeans are one of the hottest new trends. If you are confident about your shape, then go for it, but remember that a red or purple jean is really going to call attention to your lower half.
*Another hot trend that’s come back around is jeans tucked into boots. This is a great look, but it’s easiest to pull off with a skinny jean. The idea is for the jean and boot to make a sleek line and that’s impossible to do if your jeans are bunching up above your boot.
*High-waisted jeans are showing up more often, they appear to be a favorite of Hollywood starlets, in particular. If you are a fan of this trend, then be aware that this high-fashion look is not easy to pull off. The most flattering high-rise is when your jeans hit about an inch and a half to two inches below the belly button. The point is to accentuate a slim waist, make the legs look extra-long, and produce a long, lean silhouette. Too-high jeans make a woman look like she’s long-waisted, which makes the legs look shorter than they actually are.
*A dark wash translates to a dressier look. If it is acceptable to wear jeans to your job, then go with the dark wash. Top them with a crisp white shirt and heels. To keep your dark denims dark longer, wash them inside out, in cold water, and use a gentle detergent meant for dark colors.
*Petite ladies, shop in the petite section. The rise of the jean, the length of the leg, they are cut to most flatter your size and shape. If your jeans are too long, have a tailor hem them to a point where they are just grazing the top of your shoe.
*When it comes to pockets, there are a few things to looks for. The top of the pocket should hit right around the mid-line of your butt. Pockets that are set at an angle, a slight up-tilt at the outer corners, give an appearance of lift. If your trunk is virtually junk-less, then chose jeans with pocket that has a fold-over flap. The additional fabric gives the illusion of a rounder butt cheek.
*A straight leg is easier to wear than a skinny jean. If you are full through the thighs, go with the straight over the skinny.
*Your best bet, hands down, is a mid-rise boot cut jean. It is going to be the most universially flattering.
