Natural Lip Exfoliant

I’m sorta obsessed with my lips. I’m sure you have figured this out if you have been here before. The key is to maximize your lip balm or listick’s performance. The best way to do this is to make sure your lips are nice and smooth before you apply your balm or gloss of choice. A great trick is to mix sugar into something (i.e olive oil, walnut oil or un-petroleum jelly) and gently massage into your lips with an old toothbrush. Any sugar will do but I prefer light brown sugar. I can mix up a little jar’s worth and it will last in the refrigerator for about 2 weeks.
A good once a week application will do wonders. Make sure you massage very gently because the skin on your lips is very sensitive. It’s great for dry, chapped lips in the winter too. Of course just using a toothbrush and water works to exfoliate and soften your lips too if you’re in a hurry. The sugar concoction will take you just a few steps further though.

Just yesterday I was thinking I needed to try a lip exfoliant (never have). This change in weather has my lips getting a bit chapped…love the sugar + oil idea! I’ll have to try that…Thanks for sharing
I know the change in weather ALWAYS gets to my skin…lips first. When I use walnut oil/brown sugar I have a hard time not licking it a little.
