On the Cusp of a New Dawn

In honor of my quickly approaching birthday I have compiled a short list of utterly decadent desires. As this is THE birthday, yes the big 3-0, I think I am deserving of a few items that would normally elicit a snort from my husband. Think big. Like charter a jet to Paris big. Okay maybe that’s too big. Anyway, near the top of my list is the Nude Skincare line, which I am very eager to try now that they are Stateside. While
currently only available at Barney’s, it is slated to arrive at your local Whole Paycheck in 2008.
After hearing lots of buzz I checked out their website and I must say, I am smitten. “We aren’t perfect, but we’ve tried to make responsible decisions to reduce materials, pollution and waste”. This excerpt from their website sums it all up for me. Really isn’t that what we all should be trying to achieve? Doing the best we can under difficult conditions in order to limit our global footprint. The Cleansing Facial Oil is described as “luxuriously pure, detergent-free cleansing”. The idea of using a cleansing oil for my combination skin at first seems counterintuitive. Nonetheless I am intrigued. It makes me envision myself serenely primping without the sounds of a toddler banging on the bathroom door. Nude could be the modern “Calgon take me away” equivalent. By the way, you are all invited to my party and presents are mandatory.

Ah – lucky you – I am heading towards the big 4-0 this year. Oy! Just let us know when and where and we will help you drown your 3-0 sorrows! On an actually related-to-beauty note, I am very intrigued by cleansing oils too (but Shu Uemura is the one who has always captured my fascination) – be sure and let us know how you like it if you try it!
