Pretty by Nature

Shelter from the Cold

As we enter the winter months, it’s easy to forget that we still need to be protecting ourselves from the sun. Due to natural climate changes and global warming, winters are becoming increasingly mild. So let’s give thought to continuing to apply sunscreen during the winter. I have very sensitive combination skin, so I need something that is non-irritating as well as moisturizing. Juice Beauty has several great options. They are light, lower SPF lotions that really make it easy to apply every day. Over the years, I have tried a laundry list of sunscreens and moisturizers with an SPF in the hopes that they would fit the bill. Sad to say many do not. The Green Apple SPF 15 actually does. Also the SPF 30 Sheer Moisturizer is worth a try. They are non-greasy which is quite possibly my biggest gripe about sunscreens. They also have a Green Apple SPF 20 for the body which is fantastic since your face is not the only area that can become sun damaged. I always make sure to apply protection to my hands and neck. Nothing shows a woman’s age faster than her hands and neck. Well, that and a grandmother in a Hollister mini-skirt, but I digress.

Most sun protection options are loaded with such an abundance of chemicals, my skin starts to feel like it will peel off like paint. Juice Beauty uses certified organic ingredients when available and are committed to making their products paraben, fragrance and petroleum free. You just can’t beat that with a stick.
