Fit to Flare Mermaid Gown

Beautiful gown with a dramatic shape. I’ve always loved the Mermaid style. I think it’s a holdover from Summers spent pretending to be a mermaid in the swimming pool. This gown was made from a combination of hemp/silk and peace silk.

Couture Eco-friendly Wedding Dress

Dress made from hemp/silk Jacquard with a detachable bottom. The two lowest tiers can be removed to create a shorter dress. Key-hole back means you will look beautiful both coming up and going down the aisle.

Bamboo and Organic Cotton Jersey Dress

This one is my favorite. It is made with bamboo, organic cotton jersey, and hemp/silk Charmeuse. I love the Greek goddess-like look of it.

The straps that remind me of the top of a silk slip. The back  of the dress, shown to the left, is open, like an apron, but a really lovely apron.

The skirt features gathers and organic linen cloth flowers. A very beautiful gown.

Why Bamboo is good for you!
Bamboo fabric is awesome for four reasons:

1) It’s freakishly dry. Bamboo absorbs sweat like nobodies business. It never sticks to your skin and has really high breathability, leaving you comfy and dry for a long time.

2) It thermo-controls. The breathable nature of bamboo keeps you cool in hot weather and warm in cool weather.

3) Bamboo is anti-bacterial. Forever. This means it stays fresher longer, lasts longer and keeps you happy.

4) It’s damn stylish. Most of the top eco-designers–Linda Loudermilk, Deborah Lindquist, Stella McCartney and others–are all using bamboo in their everyday collections. Never before has been being sustainable looked so good.

Why bamboo is good for the environment:

1) It grows naturally. In the right climate, bamboo is everywhere. It’s a renewable natural resource that we have to put no energy into to grow, and it thrives without any pesticides or herbicides.

2) It’s biodegradable. No residue will be left to contaminate the earth when you are done with your clothing. Providing, that is, it wasn’t chemically treated or processed in the making of the fabric.

3) It grows. FAST. Bamboo reaches its maximum height in three months and matures in three years.

4) It likes the earth. Bamboo is known to improve soil quality where it grows, paving the way for less resilient plants to take root and grow, leading to more biodiversity.

Pretty neat, eh? They are also using bamboo to make floors, kitchenware and other eco-friendly products.
