Etsy Weekend: Jewelry In Gold & Silver

Etsy Weekend: Jewelry In Gold & Silver

Back to Etsy, because it’s my favorite place to shop…
Let’s look at some jewelry today. Here’s a statement necklace that used to be a brooch. It hangs on a silver-plated chain that measures 18 inches. The neutral sandy tones make this a great choice for accenting Fall wardrobe colors.

Recycled Brooch Spiral Necklace

Another statement piece, this time let your fingers do the talking. Vintage earring mounted on an adjustable ring base. This is the sort of ring my daughter loves.

Filigree Cup Ring

Today, I’ve got Part Two of my interview with Carolyn Rafaelian, of Alex and Ani jewelry. An important aspect of Alex and Ani is giving back, with their Charity By Design jewlery collection. What Are You Tired of?

(image: I’m tired)
I really like the idea of these bracelets. Not only are they made from recycled materials, but they represent some great big causes in the world.
Each is $10 and when you buy one to say that you’re tired of AIDS, world hunger, etc, $5 goes to the cause!

Wool Felt Cuffs

Kelly Mulloy makes these awesome felt cuffs.
The colors are so bright and vivid, plus they’re reversible. The way the thread is done on the cuffs reminds me of a spool of thread, which makes me happy.
Pair it with your favorite plain tee and jeans. You’ll be set!
$48

Vintage Vinyl Cuff

Vintage Vinyl Cuff

I love this cuff. It’s amazing how a little creativity can take recycling a long way.

Recycled out of classic vinyl LPs and plated with rhodium, it will never tarnish and still has the original grooves from the record! It’s made in Brooklyn by an independent designer who sells their ware through Elsewares.
It’s $50.00, but I can’t think of anything it doesn’t go with. It’s understated enough to go with everything, but has enough edge that it’ll spice up even the blandest outfit!
