Be A Green Beauty In Your LBD

Holiday season is approaching at a rapid pace. It’s a busy time of year – lots of plans, shopping, entertaining, parties.  What are you going to wear? Here are a collection of Little Black Dresses that are eco-friendly, as well as beautiful.

This dress by Kelly B is right on trend with it’s single shoulder construction. A ruffle runs from under one arm and across the chest to the shoulder.
It’s made of a combination of hemp with a little spandex to hold it’s shape. It’s machine washable, too.
Here’s a peek at the back …read more

Pursuit of Harmony Graphic Print Dress

This dress by Pursuit of Harmony is casual and fun. The neutral colors prevent the bold print from being too in-your-face! It’s a great dress for layering over a tee or under a cardigan, with tights or not!

Pursuit of Harmony is dedicated to using sustainable, organic fibers and fabrics and are working hard to minimize their eological and carbon footprints.
This dress is currently available for $86.00 from the Greenloop.

Soy Reverse Wrap Dress

This 100% soy wrap tunic by Carol Young is a very versatile piece. You can alter the length and wear it forward or backward, making it several different pieces in one!

It’s a bit short for my tastes, so I’d pair it with some skinny jeans — frontwards for works and backwards for post-work drinks with friends!
Designer Carol Young specializes in fabrics that are movable and breathable, but are also eco-friendly and fashion forward. Her pieces are perfect for those who are active in their day-to-day activities.
It’s available only in titanium for $185.00 from the Greenloop.

Green your Red Carpet Event!

This red-carpet season, the theme is “eco-friendly.” The Emmy’s’ red carpet was nixed in favor of a carpet made out of recycled pop bottles.
In the spirit of this, I thought I’d showcase some red-carpet ready and affordable dresses that are eco-friendly too!
Cowl Neck Bamboo
I love this dress. It’s classy and elegant but sexy at the same time. The bamboo jersey will cling to your curves in a way that’s forgiving, not menacing.

Made by Anna Cohen and available through BTC Elements, it’s $325.00. The back is as daring as the front, so shy chicks (and chicks without double-sided tape!) need not …read more

Cute Cotton Apron Dress: Perfect for Summer to Fall!

I was browsing through the “New Arrivals” section at The Greenloop, and came across this too cute dress!

This 100% organic cotton dress, made by Perfectly Imperfect, is perfectly imperfect for the summer to fall transition.
Pair it with flats, flip flops or wedges with a big, colorful bag and a big necklace for a hot summer day.
On those days when it gets a little chilly, layer a t-shirt underneath and throw on some skinny jeans and heels or colorful tights, a sweater and some boots make it the perfect dress for fall.
It’s currently $117.00 from The Greenloop.

Fantastic Reclaimed Summer Dresses!

Fantastic Reclaimed Summer Dresses!

You know those 1980s power dresses that came complete with detachable should pads? The ones that made anyone who wore them look like a linebacker? The ones that made the prints look gaudy because the dresses were so shapeless?
Well, not all of them ended up in the “Costume” bin at the local consignment shop. Some of them ended up in the hands of Deborah Brosenne over at BTC Elements. Deborah takes all the elements of the dress that made them infamous and chucks them out — the shoulder pads, the ruffles, the tapered sleeves, everything — and turns them into …read more
