Holiday season is approaching at a rapid pace. It’s a busy time of year – lots of plans, shopping, entertaining, parties. What are you going to wear? Here are a collection of Little Black Dresses that are eco-friendly, as well as beautiful.

This dress by Kelly B is right on trend with it’s single shoulder construction. A ruffle runs from under one arm and across the chest to the shoulder.

It’s made of a combination of hemp with a little spandex to hold it’s shape. It’s machine washable, too.

I love the way this dress is designed. The hemline hits at the knee, it has a flattering v-neck, and fluttery sleeves. The close-to-the-body shape can be pulled off easily because of the way the dress is wrapped at the wasit. Genius. It’s made by Eco-Skin.

Tea Party Dress – Black

This dress is cut in an easy body-skimming shape, with mid-length bell sleeves. It’s made with a crocheted fabric, so you can go two ways with it. Wear it with a neutral colored slip for a simple look, or pair it with something colorful for a bolder look. This dress is made by Stewart Brown.

This red-carpet season, the theme is “eco-friendly.” The Emmy’s’ red carpet was nixed in favor of a carpet made out of recycled pop bottles.

In the spirit of this, I thought I’d showcase some red-carpet ready and affordable dresses that are eco-friendly too!

I love this dress. It’s classy and elegant but sexy at the same time. The bamboo jersey will cling to your curves in a way that’s forgiving, not menacing.

Fantastic Reclaimed Summer Dresses!

You know those 1980s power dresses that came complete with detachable should pads? The ones that made anyone who wore them look like a linebacker? The ones that made the prints look gaudy because the dresses were so shapeless?

Well, not all of them ended up in the “Costume” bin at the local consignment shop. Some of them ended up in the hands of Deborah Brosenne over at BTC Elements. Deborah takes all the elements of the dress that made them infamous and chucks them out — the shoulder pads, the ruffles, the tapered sleeves, everything — and turns them into these:
