On the Inside, a lingerie shop at Etsy, carries custom-made lingerie. Many of the items are made with organic materials.
I am more than happy to do custom sizes. I can make most of my designs fit any body! Just drop me a line. Please be certain of your size when you order, as I cannot accept any returns because it is custom work and for hygienic reasons…I’m sure you understand.
If you see a fabric you like, but would like it in a different style, just ask, as I can mix and match many of the fabrics/trims/styles to create something just …read more

Etsy shopping…. The Peeko Apparel shop at Etsy is stocked with unique handmade clothing items made from reclaimed, recycled, can reconditioned materials. I really like the tunics, some as long as short dresses, made from men’s dress shirts. She reuses parts of the shirts – collars, sleeves, etc – in new ways to make a peaked sleeve or a stand-up collar. Really interesting designs.
The tops are customized – you pick the color and material combination for your shirt and it’s sized to your specifications. Each tunic takes 3 weeks to make, so if you are planning to make it a …read more

Etsy weekend shopping… It’s been awhile since we went vintage dress shopping.
Lets see what we can find….
I like this vintage Alfred Werber dress in a unique kimono style. It’s made in a bold color-block type stripe and it’s shown with a white cloth belt, but I think I’d cinch it with something wide and in a contrasting color. This dress is in a size medium-large and it’s listed as being in “great” shape. ’

This dress would be a good choice for the holidays. It’s got that sexy secretary look and comes in a size small. They …read more

Fall Trend – Choker Necklaces

When it comes to making updates to your wardrobe, adding new accessories is an easy and cost-effective place to start. Cheaper than a new pair of high-end booties or a designer bag, chokers are fun and funky Fall accessory trend.
The look is a mix of bold and feminine. The use of heavier-weight materials or a wider necklace takes a girly item and give it a touch of edginess. Some of the choker designs include multi-strand chains, beading – glass or metal, assorted baubles, and gemstones. Take a look at Rihanna below for an example.
I found some cute chokers in the …read more

Etsy weekend shopping…… In Sherry Truitt’s shop I found this necklace that is made with a repurposed carpenter’s level. I like this necklace because it immediately brought my Grandpa to mind. He used one, but it had yellow liquid inside.
Level Necklace True Blue Spirit
$42
Here’s what Sherry had to say about her True Blue Spirit Level Neckace…..
Watch the bubble float gently along in this working carpenter’s spirit level necklace. It’s calming, so zen. It creates a focus to put your life in balance. And, really comes in handy during a picture hanging emergency.
Very unique. I like the blue, it looks like …read more
Fashion Trend: High Waistlines
September 12, 2009 by Michelle Smith

After years of low-cut pants and skirts, a higher waistline is making a comeback. Sometimes the look can be awkward. For example, remember Jessica Simpson in the high-waisted pants? So many comments were made about her weight, but I think her weight was fine. She was just wearing a very unflattering pair of pants.
A skirt is a much easier way to wear the high-waist look. There’s no awkward fit through the crotch and the skirt makes the body look longer and leaner than a pair of high-waisted pants.

Beautiful, Bold, and Bohemian

I try to share a good amount of vintage clothing and accessories. I do this for a couple of reasons. One, I am a fan of the design, particularly anything that has a sort of flower child look to it. Second, it’s eco-friendly to buy vintage. The pieces I’ve shared are virtually unchanged. Maybe a “slip” is re-incarnated as a “slip dress,” but the pieces themselves are not altered.
Today, I’ve got something very different. These vintage pieces are either dyed or have added embroidered pieces attached. The dress below is a good example. It’s a slip that has been treated with a …read more

Rikrak at Etsy carries items made out of sustainable fabrics. The fabrics have different personalities – sweet, classic, and bold. I’ve been looking all over Etsy for something for my daughter’s 17th birthday and this might be what I’ve been looking for.
There’s a cute vintage quilted fabric wallet and clutch set that you can get for $31. The fabric choices are here, much to chose from, but a few sold out. The clutch purse measures 10 inches wide by 5 inches high. You can chose between snap closure or a vintage button. The fabric wallet or “card cozy” is 5 …read more
