In all of my home makeover madness (oh,maybe I just mentioned it on my other b5 blog I write for), we finally got the bathroom off the kitchen back to working order. It is such a relief not to send everyone upstairs to use the facilities.

I decorated it in pretty yellows, and creamy neutral whites, with just a splash of lavender. And this, L’Occitane Lavender Hand Duo, inspired me to bring in this lovely lavender shade.

This Cleansing Hand Wash and Hand Lotion are both all natural, of course, with relaxing notes of A.O.C. lavender essential oil and wheat protein derivatives. It smells beautiful, and looks so pretty sitting on my counter top in the handy caddy.

Tuesdays Tips – The Ultimate Relaxing Bath

I have so many great natural beauty tips and recipes to share, that I decided to make this a weekly thing. Thus, I am announcing Tuesday’s Tips. Every Tuesday, I will bring you a new natural beauty tip or recipe.

The Ultimate Relaxing Bath

Who doesn’t love a great bath? And a relaxing bath at that. The best temperature for your relaxing bath should be 100 degrees Fahrenheit. This is the temperature that has been shown to relax and un-tighten the muscles. This is also the temperature at which your brain stimulates calming chemicals. And of course, adding natural essential oils, such as lavender or patchouli will aid in the relaxation process.

Before you get into the bath, gently exfoliate so your skin can more quickly reap the benefits of the calming essential oils. Make sure your turn the lights down low, and light a calming scented soy candle. Enjoy your relaxing bath, but don’t stay in the tub for more than 20 or 30 minutes, as you may just get too relaxed and drift off to sleep… which you do not want to do in the tub. After about 20 minutes, I like to get out of the tub, slather on some moisturizing lotion, slip into some comfy jammies and get right into bed.

I am not able to upload photos, so while I’m figuring out how to get my computer fixed, I will have to dazzle you with my writing. Here goes:

I want to tell you about one of my biggest beauty secrets: lavender. Probably because I am so stressed out all the time, I need flowers and herbs and roots in my life that are famous for their calming, soothing effects.

I hear you can drink a nice cup of tea mixed with lavender but I’ve not made it yet. Right now, I am using Avalon Organics Lavender Body Lotion–it’s my go-to moisturizer when everything else runs out. L’Occitaine’s Hand Cream is on my most-wanted list since my hands look almost as craggy as Madonna’s these days. I think the press has been really mean to her hands, having nothing else to shoot her down for. These days, she keeps on her pants and she’s as fit as ever. Even if you’re not crazy about what’s going on with her makeup these days, she looks pretty spectacular.

Whenever I go to Kiehl’s, since they are so generous with their sample program, I always try to get the largest possible Lavender Foaming Bath with Sea Salts and Aloe. I should just pick up some because Lord knows I need it!
