Dr. Hauschka’s New Creamy Lip Colors

My love for a few of Dr. Hauschka’s products borders on the fanatical. Hello, lip care stick anyone. So when I peeped their new creamy lip colors I had to resist the temptation to buy them all. At $21.00 USD a piece that’s just not going to happen though. It’s creamy like a lip balm, hopefully has the essence of their trademark balm, but with mineral pigments. The red-03 shade actually looks more like plum to me, which is like my go-to dressy lip color. I will say that some of the good Dr.’s products are just a little strong for me in the fragrance department. I haven’t had the chance to try this out in person so I will have to reserve my full judgment until then. Plus it comes in a great little compact thingy and you can apply it with a brush. I find that’s the way I get the best application with lipsticks and such. Has anyone tried it out and what are your thoughts? You can get the full list of ingredients here.

Natural Lip Exfoliant

I’m sorta obsessed with my lips. I’m sure you have figured this out if you have been here before. The key is to maximize your lip balm or listick’s performance. The best way to do this is to make sure your lips are nice and smooth before you apply your balm or gloss of choice. A great trick is to mix sugar into something (i.e olive oil, walnut oil or un-petroleum jelly) and gently massage into your lips with an old toothbrush. Any sugar will do but I prefer light brown sugar. I can mix up a little jar’s worth and it will last in the refrigerator for about 2 weeks.

A good once a week application will do wonders. Make sure you massage very gently because the skin on your lips is very sensitive. It’s great for dry, chapped lips in the winter too. Of course just using a toothbrush and water works to exfoliate and soften your lips too if you’re in a hurry. The sugar concoction will take you just a few steps further though.

Like Butter Baby

I recently picked up Korres Lip Butter in Pomegranate and I am really loving it. I have been trying to find a great tinted lip balm and I feel like this is it. Well at least for now. You know me, I will be smitten with something else in a few weeks. It is actually moisturizing instead of drying like some of the other ones I have tried. The shade is also very subtle. Although next time I think I will try it in the Wild Rose Berry Stain. I have to work on my stalkerish love for Korres. I don’t think it’s healthy. Is there a patch for beauty products, or a gum maybe?
