M.A.C. Cosmetic’s Mineralized Makeup Line

Yesterday, I told you about the mineral makeup carried by AVON – until then I wasn’t even aware that they were carrying it. Another surprise -  M.A.C. Cosmetics now carries a Mineralized line. Two new Mineralize kits are available and you get them shipped free until the 24th of October, 2009. These kits are limited-edition exclusives. In the past I’ve tried M.A.C. eye shadows – my sister uses the brand. I liked the depth and the brightness of the colors. I’m glad to see that they are carrying mineral makeup now. Hopefully more companies will follow this trend.

Bare Escentuals Radiance Rocks

When I first started wearing makeup, there were these little pots of all-in-one color available. One part hippie-chic, one part magic potion, the pretty little pots held powder in a single tone – rose, pink, gold, peach. They were ceramic and sealed with a cork. You’d pull the cork out and run a fluffy brush over the powder. The color could be used on checks, eyelids, or you could mix it with a small amount of clear gloss to form a lip color.
I loved that powder. I loved the big fluffy brush that I used with it.  That’s when I …read more

What Is Mineral Makeup?

It seems as if every major beauty and makeup line is coming out with a mineral makeup product. The most popular items are usually the foundation and bronzing products, but minerals are also used in eye shadows, mascaras, and lip color. Makers of mineral makeup claim that it’s healthier for skin and will leave you looking younger, your complexion brighter and smoother.
What exactly is mineral makeup and does it live up to the company claims?

Mineral Makeup is made from the minerals mica, zinc oxide, and titanium dioxide. These are the same ingredients that foundation makeup has been made of for …read more

Makeup That Will Make You Happier, Really

bareMinerals, by Bare Escentuals, was the first and still the best of the mineral makeups that I’ve tried. The foundations are sheer and blend well. They feel light and comfortable on my skin – which is the reason that I tried the product in the first place. The eye shadows are easy to use and you can wear them sheer and light or apply with water for a deeper, more dramatic look.
bareMinerals has a new set, that is only available at Sephora, called the bareMinerals Happiness Collection. It’s a 9-piece set of color products that contain Happybelle.

Origins Mineral Makeup and Free Offer

Ever since I can remember, I’ve heard about the importance of a good breakfast, how it’s vital to start the day with a good nutritious meal.  Grains like oatmeal or wheat germ come to mind, because of their fiber and vitamin content.
Origins has come up with something special in their new mineral makeup – it’s like a breakfast for your face. Breakfast for your face?  Yes, it does sound silly, but their new Multi-Grain™ Makeupcontains the nutrient-rich ingredients organic oatmeal, soy, tapioca, rice flour, barley, wheat germ, pomegranate, gogi berry, and the vitamins C and E.
Sounds like it lays a …read more

Great Mineral Makeup At A Good Price

Physicians Formula was one of the first makeup lines that I used when I began wearing makeup. My teenage skin was seriously prone to break-outs and Mom believed that I’d have good luck with the line. At that time, there weren’t as many choices as there are today. I think I used the foundation only.
Years later, the very first mineral makeup brand that I used was also Physicians Formula. They’ve perfected their formula and developed the Organic wear 100% Natural Origin Makeup. The line is eco-friendly as well as good for the skin. It’s free of harsh chemicals, synthetic perservatives, paraben, …read more

Surprising Makeup Find At Costco

Mom and I were shopping at Costco this weekend and we found these Kirkland by Borghese Mineral Makeup kits for $24.99.  I went back and forth…get it, don’t get it, get it, don’t get it, but honestly how could I pass it up?  So, I didn’t. The kit includes a foundation, a bronzer, 3 eye shadows, an eyeliner, and 4 brushes.
The kit that I chose was the Light Kit, but the foundation is really more of a medium, which works fine for this time of the year when my light skin has a tan. I loved the eye shadows – …read more
