I love products that are multi-purpose. I highly recommend that every household should have Dr. Bronner’s 18-in-1 Pure Castille Soap. The Hemp Almond smells heavenly and works into the creamiest lather. I use it as a body wash and on my son who has sensitive skin. Dilute it with some water and it makes a great hand wash. You can use the peppermint for household cleaning. Drop 2 tablespoons in a gallon of water. Add two cups of distilled white vinegar and you have the perfect all purpose cleaner. Have you heard of the Environmental Working Group? They are a non-profit organization that research products that may threaten our health and the environment.
They recently found that a certain cancer-causing chemical 1,4-dioxane, is used by many companies in many cosmetic products. You will notice this chemical by other names, such as dioxane, diethylene dioxide, 1,4-diethylene dioxide, diethylene ether, glycol ethylene ether, dioxane-1,4, tetrahydro-p-dioxin, tetrahydro-1,4-dioxin.

Organic Claims and the Controversy.

Did you know that a product can make an Organic claim with only 70% Organic ingredients? The other 30% of ingredients must come from an approved list of non-toxic ingredients.
While there is a list of approved non-toxic ingredients, the USDA and others in the personal care industry are embattled to figure out exactly which products should be approved for personal care products. I am sure this will take years to figure out to get “certified” approval.
