If you are a vegan looking for some shopping advice, PETA has a pagethat lists favorite shops, links for how-tos, etc. That’s where I found a link to Ahimsa Footwear – a good source of vegan shoes, bags, belts, and wallets.

Then, I found this bag……

The Fat Sushi bag was handmade in North Carolina out of “biodegradable polyurethane-based faux leather with cotton backing.” Organic cotton lines the inside. A Pretty Palette for PETA.

I figured with Earth Day tomorrow there was no better time than now to tell you about this new beautiful product from Smashbox.

Smashbox Cosmetics has created two very pretty eye shadow palettes called Palettes for PETA.

These eye shadow trios are 100% vegan, and do their part to support their cruelty free position.

Two Palettes for PETA are available. First is the Earth Mother, with shadows in the shades of ivory, taupe, and deep bronze. The second palette is called In The Wild with shadow shades of pale gold, golden peach, and sage green. The shades are all very lightly shimmered, but all gorgeous.

These palettes retail for $34, and available exclusively at Sephora.

I’m a Bad, Bad Girl!

So, I took the 30-Day Veg Pledge, and three days into it – I failed!

You see, we are re-doing our kitchen, and have been eating out much more than normal. And eating out all the time is so hard on two things – the wallet and the diet.

Last night, was a regular night out. I was running late and my hubby met me with the kids at one of our in-town restaurants where I always order the same thing – a patty melt. Hubby was trying to be nice and order for me, when I knew that I was going to only have a salad. I get to the restaurant and sit down in the booth with all of the food already at the table. Naturally, there is so much commotion with 4 kids and hey – Mommy just arrived. I just started eating what was in front of me, a big, greasy burger. And it was good! It wasn’t until I bit into the second half that I realized what I had done. Naturally, I stopped and everyone thought I was crazy as I had unknowingly broken my pledge. I think I did what any good pledge person would do, and re-took the pledge starting April 1st.

And you know what, I will do it this time!

The 30 Day Veg Pledge.

I am going to do it. Really, I am. I am taking PETA’s 30 Day Veg Pledge.

Here is the pledge I am taking:
I want to eat better, feel better, and stop supporting cruelty to chickens, pigs, cows, fish, and other animals raised for food. By signing my name, I pledge to explore vegetarianism for at least 30 days.

I am doing it more to see how I feel – yes, slap me if you want, but the reason is better than none, right?
