The November 2009 issue of Real Simple features Pencil Skirts in the “Fit Lab.” I wear skirts or dresses all the time (even when I go camping). Pencil skirts are a favorite of mine. They cut a confident, sexy silhouette that is easily worn by many different figure types.
Real Simpleaddressed the hourglass figure, the slim or straight figure, full thighs and hips, or a tummy. Keep the folowing ideas in mind when shopping for a skirt:

Organic High Waist Skirt from Saks

I start a new job next week and need to stop dressing like a grad student and start dressing like a grown-up. Which is why I really like this simple organic cotton high waisted skirt at Saks Fifth Avenue. It’s sleek and classy, and the high waist would be flattering on lots of different figures.
I’d pair it with a looser top, but a simple t-shirt, like the model has on, works too!
It’s currently $175.00 from Saks Fifth Avenue.
A bit pricey for a skirt, but what do you expect from Saks?

Bamboo Jersey Wrap Skirt

This bamboo wrap skirt by Kelly B is wearable and versatile. It’s made out of bamboo jersey, making it a very durable piece of clothing–bamboo jersey looks, feels and functions just like normal jersey!
I love how they put the model in rain boots!
It’s a piece that can be easily dressed up (heels, crisp white shirt and it’s office-ready) or down (tights, boots and a sweater and you’re shopping-ready!) that’s only limited by your imagination.
It can be yours for $45.00 from Hip & Zen.
