Back in March, I had the opportunity to give away a pair of Keds Green Label sneakers. At that time, I was supposed to get a pair to test and review, but they never arrived. Well guess what? UPS brought them to me today.

I was a big Keds girl back in the day. I would keep 2 pair in constant rotation so that I always had a clean white pair available. I had this trick were I’d soak one pair in a sink of bleach and water. Eventually they’d disintegrate, as you might expect.

The Green Label Keds sneaker is available in two styles – the Willow Lace Up in white, black, and green or the Meadow Mock Toe in white, blue, and tan. I requested the black Willow Lace Up, but they sent me the green. It’s a cute green, very fresh and apple-y. It feels like there’s a bit more to the sole of the Keds than I remember. It feels a lot like an old school Vans lace up, looks like it, too.

This shoe has a lot of features that make it green. It is made with 100% Organic Cotton and it’s made with recycled rubber (outsoles) and recycled water bottles (laces). The dyes used are non-toxic and for each pair of Green Label Keds sold in 2009, a tree will be donated and planted in conjunction with the Arbor Day Foundation.

I like the shoe. It’s a comfortable, casual sneaker and the green color is fun. It looks and feels like a traditional shoe to me, which I see as a good thing. I’m all for being as green as possible, but when it comes to my feet, a good, comfortable fit is what matters most.

Simple uses a process they call Green Toe to develop a product that is as eco-friendly as possible. They strive for 100% sustainablity. Here’s a quick explanation of their process:

Progress in Green Toe is measured with a scale called “good, better, best.” The best category represents our most sustainable shoes and bags and sets the bar for the rest of the line. Moving forward these same innovative materials and constructions will be found in the good and better categories, raising the bar for the best products. Pretty nifty, huh?

Here are some cute back-to-school sneakers.

Okay, yes, I am out of school, but I still like the tradition of new sneakers in the Fall. These sneaks called, Women’s Satire Ribbon Laces , are available in Bison (my favorite), White, Rosewine, and Charcoal.

Here’s a pair that reminds me of a swimsuit I talked about earlier in the Summer, my old OP one piece with the sunset on it.

The Women’s CARtwheel Jue Curran sneaks come in a Sunset or a Fisherman print and they are only $60. Very cute.

I mentioned back to school and this Fall my niece, Trinity, is starting Kindergarten.

These look like perfect First Day of School shoes for that little lady. They are called Skippies Big Kids and they are available for big kids or in toddler sizes. Adorable.
