I plan to run a marathon in October, the Bizz Johnson. That means a lot of hours logged both on my treadmill and on the trail. I prefer trail running infinitely more, both because it’s more fun and because the scenery is better. The downside, too much sun. I use sunblock every day, whether running the trail or running errands, but so many of them are unpleasant or have that uncomfortable chemical-burn feeling.
KINeSYS is a green company and their products are cruelty-free, the bottle is free of Bisphenol-A which means it can be recycled, and all of the company’s …read more

I enjoyed probably the most perfect beach day at a glorious beach in Rhode Island yesterday.
Making it even more enjoyable was the fact that we left sunburn free, thanks to this chemical free sunscreen I picked up from Aubrey Organics.
Natural Sunscreen SPF 20 Unscented was my choice. I loathe fragrant sunscreens, so my natural choice was a natural one for me.

Many of you may know about natural mineral sunscreens, and many of you may not yet. One of the benefits of using mineral makeup is the fact that they are natural sunscreens. But some may wonder what to do with the rest of the body when shielding it from the sun.
When using a natural mineral sunscreen, your skin will be blocked from UV-A, B and C rays. Some refer to these natural sunscreens as broad spectrum, as they do offer your skin more protection from the sun.
Here is a list of some natural mineral sunscreens to try.

Tuesday’s Tip: Be Gentle, Stop Pulling Your Face!
This may sound silly; but it comes directly from a dermatologist:if you don’t scrunch your forehead, you will not get wrinkles there and thus will not need Botox. Seriously, a derm told me that.
Additionally, please stop pulling your face, especially around your eyes. If you need a smooth place to deposit your eyeliner, please tilt your head back and raise your eyebrows. Otherwise you are just asking for surgery. Also? Sunscreen. Kiehl’s Oil-free 25 SPF under your makeup.
And if you’re doing a lot of at-home microdermabrasion or using alpha- or beta-hydroxies or fruit acids at all either stop (please stop!) …read more
