This year, in an effort to survive the high cost of the holidays, I’m going to get a jump-start on my gift shopping. My theory is that if I spread the shopping out over a few months, instead of cramming it all into December, it will be easier on my budget. Do you think it will work? Wish me luck, please!

The Body Shop has two new limited edition products lines available. The Nutmeg and Vanilla line is a mix of nutmeg, vanilla, and ginger. The Black Velvet Apricot line is a mix of apricot and plum. The ad for these “Sweet Treats” shows a lot holiday ornaments, so I’m assuming these fragrances are designed for the holiday season.

The Nutmeg and Vanilla line includes Body Butter, Body Lotion, Soap, Bath & Shower Gel, Lip Balm, Body Scrub, and Hi-Glimmer Body Glaze.

I’d like to try the Hi-Glimmer Body Glaze. It’s made with Community Trade organic beeswax, antioxidant Vitamin E, and Lanolin. It moisturizes and leaves a golden shimmer on the skin. It’s $18 for a 4 ounce tube.

The Black Velvet Apricot includes Frosted Shimmer Lotion, Body Butter, Lip Balm, Soap, Body Smoother, and Shower Nectar.

The Black Velvet Apricot Body Smoother combines Community Trade organic honey with lanolin, walnut and almond shells to make a gentle exfoliating scrub. A 6.75 ounce tube is only $20.

REN Rose Trio Set

REN Clean Bio Active Skincare has a new Rose Trio set available at Beauty.com. It features “one of the world’s most expensive and revered essential oils” – Moroccan Rose Otto Oil. The Moroccan Rose Otto Oil is gathered by a process wherein the petals of the flower are harvested in the early morning hours and then steamed. The distilled oil is known for it’s ability to soothe both sensitive skin and nerves.

The kit contains three Rose-scented skincare products.

There’s a Moroccan Rose Otto Body Wash, a bath oil, and a Damask Rose Ramnose Body Biosaccharide Body Cream.

I was shopping at Etsy this morning when I found Simply Pure Soy Candles Sugar Body Scrub. It’s a available in the largest variety of scents that I have ever seen. I’m listing them on the bottom of this post.

The Sugar Scrub is cane sugar mixed with a combination of Safflower Oil and the anti-oxidant Vitamin E. It’s paraben free. For some reason, I haven’t been checking out Beauty.com. Seems pretty basic right? You write about beauty and/or style, you look at Beauty.com. Duh. Oops…

So, today I did look and I found this great set from Origins. It’s called Into the Green and it’s 4 products made with a combination of organic ingredients, essential fatty acids, and vitamins. Good for you stuff for more beautiful skin.

Caroline Chu On QVC

Back in January, I reviewed Caroline Chu’s Shower Gel, Moisturizing Body Lotion, and Fragrance Oil. I loved the products with their fragrance notesof Rose, lily, Sandalwood, Musk, Rain, and Moss – very feminine and pretty.

Caroline Chu is making her debut on QVC this weekend. In addition to the Shower Gel and Moisturizing Lotion, she’s got a whole slew of natural skin care products including Bamboo Herbal Facial Scrub and Night Cream with Elastine and Collagen.

Most of the products that will be featured on the show are available with Easy Pay. Take a look at Caroline’s products here. I reccommend the 3 that I tried, but if you can only go for one, pick the Shower Gel. It has chamomile, vitamins, and aloe in it.
