Golden Path Alchemy sent me a variety of products to try for review. These included masks like the Bright Mask, Goji Glow Mask, Silk Herbal Mask, the Renew Toner, and the Renew Serum. I liked all the masks. They left my skin feeling smooth and the Goji Glow smelled like a Fig Newton cookie (yum).

My favorite product was the Renew Serum. I have some lines near my eyes and I noticed that after a week of using the serum, these lines were less noticeable. I was shocked (and excited). I would recommend this serum over all the other serums I have tried.

In addition to liking the products, I also respect what the ladies at Golden Path Alchemy stand for. They are committed to producing a quality, green product.

EO has a line of hair products and they sent me some things to try. I used to be a hairdresser, so haircare is something that I take seriously. I have color-treated hair, so they sent me the shampoo and conditioner for that type. In addition, they sent normal hair products, a detangler spray, deep conditioner, and a pre-shampoo conditioner.

I found that the Normal shampoo and conditioner left my hair feeling better – softer, less frizzy, fewer tangles – than the Colored formula. I loved the way the shampoos smelled, but neither conditioner was heavy enough for my hair. The detangler worked fine, but use as little as possible to get by, because it’s a little bit sticky. It made combing my youngest daughter’s hair out much easier. The pre-shampoo conditioner was nice – it smelled so good, it’s  for occasional use. The deep conditioner was my favorite. I loved that stuff. It was very conditioning and my hair felt healed when I was done.

The products contain ingredients like quinoa protein, jojoba oil, glycerin, gotu kola, rosemary oil, cedarwood oil, coconut oil, olive oil, and mushroom complex. I liked everything that I tried, the deep conditioner with wild lime and ginger was one of the best deep conditioners that I’ve tried anywhere, including in the salon.

I tried a few items in the line. I really liked the way they made my skin look and feel, plus they smelled good. Not frou-frou good, but clean and healthy good. I will definitely continue to use them, especially the toner, which came in a mini spray bottle. (I need more!!) It was very refreshing.

The cleanserhas an an effective exfoliating ingredient, but instead of feeling rough and scratchy, it has a fine texture and a gentle touch. It contains a blend of organic Brown Rice Flower, Willowbark, Apricot Kernel, Sunflower, Chickweed and Rose.

I used a dab on my hands and elbows. It is very rich and a little dab is all you need. My skin instantly had a younger look and feel to it, which I enjoy because my hands suffer a fair amount of wear and tear. You can really smell the Calendula. I like that scent – it has a comforting smell to it. Of course that might be the chamomile which is used frequently in aromatherapy.

Skin Food can also be used as a facial moisturizer, acne treatment, cuticle conditioner, on chapped lips, on babies or small children, on callouses, or as a protective layer on the skin to guard against weather damage.

They use Dead Sea Salts, aromatherapy oil, and herbs to produce high quality products that are ECOCERT, the international standard for natural products, approved. 

I recently read (I’m sorry, but I can’t remember where it was that I read it) that it’s okay to forgo your regular day cream and use a serum on it’s own during the day. A serum has a lighter feel and usually feels like an instant skin plumper to me. They feel like added pure moisture back into your skin. Unfortunately, they don’t contain a sunscreen, so be sure to apply a seperate sunscreen before leaving the house.

Luckily, within a few days of reading this, Sabon’s Organic Face Serum arrived at my door. I put it to the test, in fact I am wearing it right now. It contains a mixture of the oils of the macademia nut, olive, and jojoba, medicinal plants, shea butter, aloe vera, and vitamin E.

When I read about all the oils, I worried that it would have a greasy feel to it. It doesn’t. My skin feels moist and soft. This is a great product for hot Summer days. And it smells good. So many skin care products stink. I do not want my face to stink and neither does my boyfriend, I am sure.

I have to say a little bit about the packaging… it’s lovely. My serum arrived in the beautiful gift box, wrapped with a bow. The box that holds the serum has a vintage look to it. Very nice. Sabon has a wide selection of products, perfect for gift giving.
